  1. arrowplusknee - Teh Guard of tha Interwebz says:

And it is also exactly like saying that you stopped getting arrows to the knee, so you will self-inflict arrow shaped wounds into the knee, thus fooling the guard registration personnel into signing you up…
oh hi did you miss me

  2. Pony Rarity says:

The real fail here is the fact this guy uses Internet Explorer. I like your font. It’s nice. Hurrhurr

    • RS says:

How can you tell it’s IE?

      • Doctor Freeman says:

He can’t. Either a (bad) troll or a tech illiterate.

But, in case he was serious (and if he was, I mean no disrespect)

1: a webpage can choose its own fonts. If no font to use is described by the webpage, it can use whatever font the browser has set as its default font. This font setting is changable, so the font isn’t a valid reason to say someone uses IE

2: There is no part of the browser displayed, so you can’t accurately determine if this is IE or not.

  3. Pony Rarity says:

The real fail is the fact this guy uses Internet Explorer.

  4. STUDI says:

    because barebacking is so safe

  5. 13 says:

switching to a Mac because of virii is like moving to Canada because of war. it’s not safer, but nobody cares enough to attack.

  6. Joy says:

    Buy a Mac.

    • Dustin Hahn says:

I agree with this point. I’ve saved so much money since switching to Mac. Now I don’t have to pay for virus protection and countless, short-lived repairs. I am hoping that one day the world will wake up and stop hating on what is superior hardware.

      • Jіbble with an i says:

Superior hardware is spec-ing out your own machine and it building it for whatever you want to use it for. Problem is you can’t build your own Mac.

      • Phendraana says:

Hate to burst your bubble, but mac hardware is made by the EXACT same manufacturers as PC hardware. I’m a computer tech, I work on both macs and PCs & they’re no different on the inside. The “superior hardware” you speak of is just the placebo effect of paying more for a shiny white mac.

That said, the fact that you actually PAID for virus protection when there are multiple free programs readily available online is what really makes you a moron. People ‘hate on’ your precious apple stuff because its nothing but overpriced hipster crap.

        • Fawfulster says:

          Hipster crap bought by preppies.

        • Ryan Waxx says:

Mac hardware WAS exclusive to macs for many years before they finally gave up the hardware race after it was apparent they couldn’t keep up.

So it used to be true that you can’t build your own MAC, but it isn’t anymore.

I’d advise someone going down this path to make sure EVERY component is compatible though, because you still need drivers to make hardware work.

        • moms; they don't love you like i love you - Didn't Forget Pоlаnd says:

Yes, I’m sure that’s the case.

        • Jіbble with an i says:

I develop programs for PCs. Convince me why I should want to build a Mac. Ready, set, GO!

        • AussieChick says:

          I love you

        • illie says:

So… When did Apple went from PowerPC to IBM-PC type of architecture?
Sure, they may be the same from Von Neumann’s standpoint of view, and of course, nowadays the actual CPU and GPU cores are the same, but architectural difference is still very important.
But of course, if you mean that the same manufacturing process is being applied while completing the components, I can’t agree more, it’s all soldering in the end of the day…
Btw. I assume that you are aware of the fact that while virus protection is available for free, the free versions very often lack basic things that advanced user needs, so a lot of people still buy their protection just to make sure that everything can be set to proper values?

      • Matt says:

I have never spent a dime on virus protection or repairs for a pc. You must just be retarded.

  7. Corvidae says:

It’s a great day to be bi, if all you worry about is children…

  8. IV says:

It’s like that because the logic doesn’t work for women?

  9. Catty says:

Come on. Don’t compare gay people to Mac users. That’s insulting.

  10. bks says:

The only reason mac’s don’t get viruses is because hardly anyone uses them. If you were going to create a virus would you create one that would effect 5% of all the computers or 95% of the computers?

Note: Numbers just made up for dramatic purposes, not sure of the actual ration but i’m probably pretty close.

    • Steve says:

I suppose it doesn’t matter to you that your argument has been debunked for over 10 years now.

There were viruses for friggin’ CELL PHONEs with a much smaller market share than Mac.

      • goes like this says:

Wow. Ur dumb. Spoon dumb. Yup. Dumb as a spoon. Fvckin a. Can we get an IQ limit up in here. Minimum of 2iq pts.

      • Will says:

the market percentage of android (or iOS) is a lot higher than that of Macs. also most people don’t think their cell phones can get viruses so they are vulnerable. also macs can get viruses the market percentage of macs and market percentage of unprotected PCs (people who don’t know what they are doing, download everything, and don’t use a antivirus) are close to the same.

      • geiste4 says:

no, see the real reason is it would be stupid for the virus creates, the small amount of actual users that like mac and think that it is better than PC but are not graphic arts, liberal arts, or all around hipsters, to create a program that will affect them selves. its like a god creating an STD that can be given to a god ^_^

    • Insert name here... or there... it doesnt matter. says:

      Note: No one cares.

    • PostyPosterson says:

      *affect

    • Beatus Mongous says:

Don’t confuse market share with installed base. Market share consists of new machine purchases, and was around 10% last year in the US. This is ahead of the likes of Acer, Toshiba, and many others. Only Dell and HP sold more units.

Installed Base is the number of machines currently owned and running. Back in 2005, that number was 16%, higher than any other manufacturer. Today, it’s much higher, probably close to 25% in the US. Also, bear in mind that Apple and Microsoft only compete on a software level, and since Macs can now run Windows, that competition isn’t nearly as clear-cut as it used to be. Technically, it’s possible for both Apple and Microsoft to have a 100% installed base.

      • Tommycat says:

Lets see here. Mac OS gets attacked and you’ll likely get some college kid’s term papers and music. Windows system attacked and you can get a company’s financial data. Linux and UNIX get hacked in different ways since they are normally on the network. Not that there aren’t viruses for *NIX systems, it’s just more work than necessary to get into them. You’ll find that the majority of malware on Windows is entirely user created. OSX is being attacked now. They’re no longer safe through obscurity.

    • Caveman Carl says:

      Occupy the Apple Store

      the 95%

  11. Blake says:

Many muggers have a code: ‘Don’t mug people with down syndrome.’
Many hackers refuse to hack Macs for the same reason.

  12. Mjuk says:

    Install Linux Mint.

    That was pretty funny.

Mate of mine just found his AVG active file scanner conflicts with Windows 7.
By the time he figured it out, it had trashed BOTH his backup drives.
Was NOT a very good Christmas.

  16. BikeMystery says:

    Butthurt PC user much?

  17. TechnoBrit says:

As it has been said many times before, there are no viruses on macs because no-one bothers to compose them.

    Windows = logical
    Mac = illogical
Linux = either for hipsters or pros

  18. Mm says:

    Swear fail

  19. Ryan Waxx says:

    Truth.

Implying that Mac users are gay is merely a fortuitous bonus,

    • The Swordfish, Supreme Overlord of Sporks says:

Take your supercilious homophobia and cram it up your bloated, diseased intestines. That is, if you’re smart enough to know where they are, which I doubt.

  20. coritz says:

    No don’t by a.Mac its easier to.download.minecraft mods.on a windows

  21. Bob says:

I would just like to point out that there are, in fact, viruses that affect Macs. The concept that there are no viruses on a Mac is an extremely outdated attitude. There have been and will be forever. Mac OS is not some mystical operating system that is immune. If you are retarded enough to think that Macs are immune to viruses then you deserve what you get.

    • Beatus Mongous says:

This is true. There is no OS that is immune to viruses, not even the iOS.

Keep your computer updated, no matter what OS you run, watch your downloads and make sure your sources are trusted, and periodically scan your computer. An active role is the only way to prevent virus infection on your computer.

  25. Me Me says:

It always amuses me how antagonistic Widows geeks are. It’s as if which OS someone else uses actually impacts their own world. They have managed to reduce themselves to a level lower than that of the rednecks who throw insults back and forth about who drives a Chevy or a Ford. And I love the irony involved when they display their homophobia by using sexual orientation as an insult – it has to be rough to be so offended by the people very people they wish were their partner.

    • Tommycat says:

Oh yes, because Mac users don’t constantly tell people on Windows machines to switch to Mac whenever there is mention of viruses. Oh and FYI Macs get viruses too. Some really bad ones. Then there are the Trojans, Worms and what not. If you’re running a Mac without virus protection, you’re an idiot.

      • Beatus Mongous says:

It is true that many of us Mac users get all in a huff about stupid stuff. I don’t like that attitude. The antagonistic “fanboy” attitude manifests itself in many forms, be it PC vs. Mac, PS3 vs. XBox, Chevy vs. Ford, Import vs. Domestic, etc. Heck, I’ve even seen it show up in the world of bicycles. It’s crazy.

As far as I’m concerned, buy what you like, and use it. Who cares what others have? The only one that matters when choosing your product is yourself. Pick what works best for you, and stick with it.

Personally, I buy Macs because I’m very familiar and proficient with the OS, and I use Final Cut Pro to edit commercials and other things on a daily basis. However, I won’t hesitate to recommend an Alienware or other good Windows machine with Windows 7 to my friends and family, if that path is best for their current situation. It’s a good OS, and if one is familiar with Windows, why not stick with it? I’ll also recommend a good built machine from some of my trusted builder friends, as well. It all depends on the level of experience that the intended user has, and what that user needs to do. There is no “blanket” option that makes everyone happy, although a Mac with Fusion or Parallels installed, plus a Windows 7 image and a Linux image is about as close as one can get.

      • moms; they don't love you like i love you - Didn't Forget Pоlаnd says:

Neither group is any better than the other, and they’re b.oth terrible.

      • The Swordfish, Supreme Overlord of Sporks says:

You either-or people are just weird. I’m an IT tech who uses Windows, Mac OS X, and various Linux distros on a daily basis, and OS X is objectively stabler and easier to use than Windows, which is why I generally recommend it to my customers. It’s true that Apple hardware is overpriced — believe me, I have nothing but contempt for that corporation — but of all the Macs I’ve owned, I’ve had maybe one hardware failure, and not a single driver issue, which is well worth the added expense for casual consumers. By comparison, even the most top-of-the-line PCs I’ve used, owned, or worked on hang frequently, glitch out in incredibly annoying ways, or randomly stop working in ways that requires hours of maintenance. Bottom line: If you’re not a computer pro, either get a Mac or a Hackintosh. If you are a computer pro, use Linux. If you’re a gamer, use Windows. Tribalistic attachment to any particular OS is just stupid.

  26. Captain L says:

This again? People will use whatever OS they want. If they like it better, let them use it. I like using a Mac.

  27. anonymous says:

    Actually, Mac users are gayer.

  28. LinuxUser says:

Ubuntu Linux, free, secure, works well with a nice GUI, customisable down to the smallest thing, oh, and can run off of a 2 gb usb,

    • The Swordfish, Supreme Overlord of Sporks says:

Ubuntu used to be lovely. Then they switched to Unity, which makes Windows 7 look like a paradise of user-friendliness by comparison.

  29. Hunter57dor says:

it is a pretty good metaphor, because you still need condom’s to do a man safely, and you still need anti virus with a mac. nice try. you can however go linux.

    • Beatus Mongous says:

It’s still a good idea to wear a condom when f*****g sheep, too.

    • The Swordfish, Supreme Overlord of Sporks says:

Yeah, if you’re completely paranoid and think Teh Hackerz are in ur computer, hackin ur filez. If you’re reasonably acquainted with technology, you don’t need antivirus software on *any* OS, although since Windows is still ridiculously susceptible to malicious code, easy to compromise, and a pain to fix manually, it’s generally good practice.

  30. really? says:

I have had free anti virus on my pc for years, have yet to get a virus. Why are mac users so afraid of the world anyhow?

  31. Painstream says:

Here’s how this goes, for all you Mac/Linux sheeple out there:

Encourage more people to “Buy a [your platform]“.
Said platform increases in market share, adding with it service expansion and attracting attention.
Increase chance of hackers targeting [your platform].
Increase chance of you getting a virus, because you encouraged people to “Buy a [your platform].”

Also, does no one remember the number of times iProducts have been hacked recently? Or that Macs consistently fail first in every hacking competition?

    Please do STFU.

    • Nearly right, but not quite. Linux and Mac (both being Unix based) are more secure because of the way they are built. Not being targeted as much doesn’t make them more secure, just less likely to be hit.

Windows isn’t as secure because it keeps insisting on tying in GUI software at a level below the GUI. However, something tells me that your knowledge of computers extends only to using them, and nothing more fundamental, so most of what I just said probably won’t make much sense to you!

  32. Heyazzo says:

    Linux=No Virus. Facepalm.

  33. asymptotic says:

It’s like not having a condom, so you’ll only take bjs.
