Think of all the money and time that went into seizing these chemicals which are used only to alter the users perception in the same way as alcohol does. What a complete waste.
They only had the weapons because of the criminalization of the drugs. During prohibition, people with alcohol had to start packing heat as well.
It appears nine people plus Teo are fascists who oppose our right to decide what substances to put in our bodies.
Yes, mentioning loaded weapons means that I’m a “fascist” who apparently thinks that people shouldn’t have free choice. Nice try, but my view is that people can do whatever they want to their bodies as long as it doesn’t harm other people.
If they weren’t spending so much money on invading people’s houses over powders and plants the dealers wouldn’t have felt the need to keep loaded weapons in their home.
Because as we all know, except for “dealing in powders and drugs”, drug dealers are otherwise model citizens who abhor the senseless violence of our times.
It is a known fact that criminalizing something makes those who deal in it engage in unrelated criminal activity, often involving guns. During prohibition, people dealing in alcohol had to arm themselves. Also, once you label someone a ‘criminal,’ you remove their motivation to avoid other crime. You also make it much more likely that other criminals will now expand into dealing; organized crime never had much interest in running alcohol until prohibition began.
It would appear that nine people, plus Teo and Waxx, are f@scists who oppose our right to decide for ourselves what substances to put in our bodies.
This is a pathetic argument. Chemical dependency is far more dangerous than alcohol dependency (which isn’t to say that alcoholism isn’t a problem). Doing drugs is a right…wow. I can’t believe that anyone would actually think that they are in the right about that. Maybe pot, but not crack. I’ve seen people who thought that they had shook off the addiction, only to have it take them back and make them lose their jobs and go back to prison. Even if it was legal, you’d spend all of your efforts trying to feed your addiction instead of your family.
The point here is if the drugs weren’t illegal, there would be no drug dealers, and no drug violence.
All the violence is caused by greed, caused by insane profit margins, which wouldn’t exist in a regulated market.
When’s the last time you had a moonshine dealer get busted in your neighborhood? Legalization and Regulation works – we’ve proven the model with Alcohol.
We’re talking about nearly a pound of coke, and over 2 and a half pounds of crack. Talk about intent to sell. Harming your own body is one thing, but getting other people addicted (or keeping them in supply) is illegal for a good reason. It’s been mentioned that people only deal because they can’t get a job. It *is* pretty hard to keep a job when you’re addicted to crack. So, these dealers are just making the surrounding world a worse-off place. No harm there.
But alteration of perception is dangerous, especially combined with weapons. Dealing drugs enables the drug addicts to get their hands on them and can lead to violence or car crashes, etc.
Alcohol alters perception, so do emotions and sleeping. I didn’t say fighting or driving under the influence of any drug should be legal, but they are no more dangerous than driving when tired, drunk or angry.
Drug addicts would be able to find help much easier if drugs were legal, and it would probably be harder for them to get hold of drugs. A drunk man trying to buy more beer will often be turned away, do you think illegal drug dealers do the same to a person one hit away from a fatal dose of crack, or heroin? I think not.
If these dealers are in “serious debt and need quick money,” why wouldn’t they sell to someone one hit away from death, if they could even tell? What if they buy a week’s worth of heroine and do it all in one night? It’s a little harder to kill yourself with alcohol due to the sheer volume required. Drugs…not so much. Addicts kill people and steal things to buy their drugs because they can’t keep a job, not because they are hard to get and illegal.
I’m sorry, but I don’t really see how I misconstrued. In any case, I feel that the, “It’s our body, and I should do what I want to it” argument is invalid. It’s not even just the dealers, it’s the addicts and the dangerous people that kind of addiction turns them into. Dealers facilitate that, regardless of how nice and well-meaning people they may be. I think I know what you’re saying, and the above is mostly to earlier comments by others. It makes a little sense saying that doing the drugs shouldn’t be illegal, but doing bad things while under the influence should be. I’m just saying that letting people get impaired with something more portable and immediate than alcohol (not to mention super unhealthy) makes those bad things too likely.

I think that you have it a little backwards. People are willing to become criminals to engage in something dangerous in order to make an easy buck. It’s not the label; these are just bad people. If you’re willing to arm yourself to defend your illegal lifestyle rather than living within your means and getting a legitimate job, you deserve jail time.
So, you’re saying that these people would be justified for shooting the police for “invading” their house? I imagine that they were armed to protect them from junkies or other dealers, not the police…I hope.
Someone needs to beat drongo with a rubber hose and call him a retard, then maybe he’ll snap out of whatever he’s in, and realize that the way he types is not normal.
I guess they are just acknowledging, early on in the story, that most of Clearwater is already aware of this story, as evidenced by the 9 people who visited and “liked” the facebook page.
sounds like these guys were part of the fast & furious BATFE operation LOL. at least i would claim that if i were them. anyway it should read ILLEGAL possession of a firearm. Simply possessing a firearm isnt illegal unless you legally cant own a firearm.

I can’t believe there are people on here actually defending crack dealers!!! Seriously-WTF is wrong with you people. Ever meet a crackhead? They’ll pretty much do anything for another rock so stop defending the dealers who enabled them to get that way. You can spew your BS all you want about dealers being upstanding people or how we should be able to decide for ourselves what to put in our bodies. The only drug that should even remotely be considered as a legalized drug is pot but as you morons who would actually defend crack dealers have proved-once it’s legalized-it opens the doors for other drugs to be put on the for front of legalization. I still can’t decide if you people are trolls looking for attention or if there really are people that stupid in the world.
Why are the police posting their arrests on Facebook? Why am I the first one to questions this? Have you all lost your minds?
Facebook is not for that. If you care about it the read the police log, don’t make police waste their time creating Facebook posts. This, among many other wasteful ways our government employees spend their time, is the real reason the country has so much debt.
Because they can. Because you have your priorities screwed up. No.
Facebook is for whatever the hell people want to use it for within whatever parameters they outlined in the terms of service agreement. I used to read the police blotter, not that it seems like you are the person to know what that is. This seems much like it.
Think of all the money and time that went into seizing these chemicals which are used only to alter the users perception in the same way as alcohol does. What a complete waste.
Yeah, and seizing two fully-loaded weapons? Why even bother? They could only kill people at the most.
They only had the weapons because of the criminalization of the drugs. During prohibition, people with alcohol had to start packing heat as well.
It appears nine people plus Teo are fascists who oppose our right to decide what substances to put in our bodies.

Yeah! Let’s have no laws, then we won’t have any criminals!
^I agree with this sarcasm.
