Africa is bordered from the east by the red sea, not the suez canal. Saud Arabia is to the east of the red sea, Egypt is to the west of the red sea.
you run into a problem since the red sea exists on both sides of the sinai peninsula: the gulf of suez to the west, the gulf of aqaba to the east. Also, even if what you are saying were true, the land border between Egypt and Israel is not the red sea.

Egypt exists over Africa and Asia, with Sharh El Sheikh resting right in the middle. East of it is Africa and mainland Egypt whilst west leads on to Asia, where a tiny proportion of Egypt lies. It’s classed as African, but technically both, so to an extent, black’s right. A fail for red tbh.

He meant that within the context of using the “basically” (and not “mainly” as you wrote) to mean which continent a country is in — because that was the usage established by Red — Eqypt is “basically” in Africa, so its native inhabitants are “basically” African. Nobody, Black included, thinks that this is a sensible statement outside the specific conversation the two were having, but within the constraints of that conversation, it works fine.

Fail. Red doesn’t dispute that Egypt itself is in Africa, and is saying that essentially its inhabitants are Asian, which is true in the sense that they are Arabs. Arab = from Arabia. Arabia = in Asia.

The Sinai Peninsular is part of the African tectonic plate, and it is diverging from the Arabic plate (The Arabian Peninsula is on its own plate.) And should be able to be fairly said on that ground to exist in Africa.

Egypt is one of the MENA-countries (Middle-East/north-Africa). Though their culture is much alike, they’re divided in 2 continents. IMO continents have little to do with culture, and everything to do with tectonics.

You missed the key word “geographical”. Geographically speaking, Egypt is in Africa. Politically/culturally speaking, Egypt is part of the Middle East.

All Arab countries have strong cultural ties. Egypt has been run by a lot of people over the centuries. Since the reign of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty ended (actually not kidding) in 1952 it’s been run by Arabs. Arabs are from Saudi Arabia and are thus of Asian descent.
No one would really call Arabs “Asian” in a colloquial sense, but it’s true that they are an Asian people.
Although, funnily enough Muhammad Ali himself (also not kidding – no relation to the boxer obviously) was probably Albanian.

And they be crazy.” I have to assume that people who say stuff like that live in areas where they know absolutely no one except those who have the same lock stock values as them. I have friends/family/coworkers who are atheists, Christians, liberals, conservatives, Jewish, Hindu, agnostic, don’t care about politics, don’t care about religion, straight, gay, bi, whatever, and none of them are crazy and I’m glad I get to spend time with them.
FYI, if you had to classify most Americans, even though they don’t know it, they’d be “classical liberals” aka libertarian. That’s what makes our country special.

One of the few ways to separate what is spin and what is truth is to watch both sides and compare notes. You’re not going to get the straight story out of any of them. CNN included. The people that think they will…those are the “crazy” ones.
Bottom line is this: no political party is looking out for you or the health of the nation. That includes the poor for you DNC adherents. Having been poor when I was younger, I can state that with certainty. With exceptions I could count on one hand, elected officials are looking out for themselves. The sooner some of you get over the agenda the better off we will all be.

Well, Egypt is mostly an Arab nation and part of Egypt is in Asia. It is close enough to the Middle East that it does have a huge bearing on the political situations there and instability there threatens the entire region. It is kind of like Russia how it is both in Asia and Europe, it significantly alters both regions.

Egypt is partially in Asia, and Arab North African countries are for most intensive purposes considered a part of the Middle East. Most of Egypt is in Africa but the Sinai is actually a part of Asia. Of course that fact does not diminish this guy’s stupidity. Although many Asian countries has authoritarian regimes in power many others are free democratic societies. This guy calling Egypt full of Asians points to the fact that he is British, as Brits are most likely to call Arabs Asians, while Americans call Arabs Arabs and Chinese people Asians.

To be fair on the dude, Sinai a region of Egypt is in Asia and most Egyptians are Arabs (apart from the Copts, I think) which are from the Arabian Penisula which is in Asia. Their national language is Arabic which is an Asian language and their religion is Islam, also Asian.

People of Modern North Egypt are of Arabic descent, and came out or Arabia in the 7th-8th Century. Arabia is considered to be part of Asia.
The Pharaohs from 323 BC onwards were White; descended from the Ptolemies; which includes Cleopatra. Before and between everybody else would be considered African.
