Meh indeed. Bi-polar disorder is the most over diagnosed, BS excuse for a mental illness. It happens to everyone. It’s called a sugar crash. Some people are babies and can’t stand feeling sad, or can’t control their tempers so they use it as an excuse. “It’s not my fault, I’m bi-polar waaaaa”. Back in the day, manic-depressive disorder and clinical depression were only diagnosed for people with real chemical imbalances. Nowadays a primary care physician, NOT EVEN A PSYCHIATRIST, will diagnose someone as bipolar.

You want a real disorder? Try being a schizophrenic. The doctor constantly monitors me, and there are bugs in all of my phones and electronics. They are probably reading this right now.

Why Do People Capitalize Every Letter In A Sentence?

  8. smartmommy says:

ok, not to be a downer, but as a Bi-polar mom, this is truly nothing to joke about, ever. It is a horrible, gut wrenching, dangerous, family destroying disease. Until you have walked in one’s shoes, keep your stupid, idiotic, uninformed jokes to yourself. I am disgusted this is reprinted. No one posts cancer jokes, or handicapped jokes. This is just as bad. Done Rant.

    • are you kidding says:

      ….. <OD….awkward turtle….

    • Mapcinq says:

I happen to live with someone who is bi-polar, and I find this absolutely hilarious. I also live with someone that is a paranoid scizophrenic and he makes the bi-polar person seem normal. If you cant laugh at something like this, maybe it is you that has the problem.

    • WriterOfLight says:

I’ve been dealing with mental health crap since I was 14 so while on some level I can see your point I suggest you learn to laugh at your problems, makes life a lot easier! Oh, and people do post cancer and handicapped jokes, some of them are pretty good.

    • Wilson says:

“Bi-polar mom”? Does that mean you have one white kid and one black kid?

      • Dan says:

Or good and evil twins! One dressed in black and the other in white, separated as young children and trained in the art of combat, fated one day to meet again on the battlefield and decide the fate of the world!

    • Canaduck says:

I have bipolar disorder and I think this is a pretty funny joke, actually. It makes me feel better to inject a little harmless humor into a serious and depressing situation. We’re humans and it feels good to laugh.

As long as people recognize that bipolar disorder is as awful and serious as you say (and yes, many people don’t realize this, unfortunately) I see no harm in a joke like this. Some jokes can be very hurtful, but I don’t think that this is one of them. Have you ever checked out the Stand Up for Mental Health comedians?

      • Karma says:

Whew, thanks… it sounds so much better comming from you than me going on a rant at this lady taking the joke so personally. I bet she laughs at dead-baby jokes though :-P

    • go4 says:

Just wait 5 minutes and you’ll think it’s hilarious.

    • Jen says:

      it’s not a disease.

    • Your_Mom says:

… I would laugh at Cancer or Handicap jokes… why -doesn’t- anyone make those jokes? If AIDS is funny Cancer has to be a close second and my mom had Cancer two years ago…. If people are going to be idiots and air their personal business out on FB, like a diagnosis from their doctor for BPD, or any other internet service for that matter, maybe they deserved to be mocked and laughed at. And before you start ranting about how “you don’t know what it’s like” I do, so save your self righteous bulls**t for someone who actually cares what you think.

  9. Wilson says:

“how f_cking great?” is perfectly ambiguous to begin with.
Orange fails once for being boring and once again for being redundant

  10. Thalia says:

This joke is in bad taste, but it’s still funny.

  11. DeeYo says:

I feel sorry for bipolar people, and I feel sorry for bipolar bears too….

  12. Heart says:

In poor taste. I’m pretty disgusted too…

  13. Sisyphos says:

    I love this so much

  14. Hobson's Choice says:

I don’t get it. What’s so funny about white bears that go both ways?

  15. bipolar says:

I hate to be the lame person who says this, but with bipolar disorder, you don’t have mood swings within an hour. Your moods, depressive or manic, would last days, weeks, months, or even years. Bipolar disorder is very serious and I don’t appreciate humor at its expense.

    • Leigha says:

To be fair, no matter how long the mood lasts, there will still be a moment where it changes.

    • Michael says:

I disagree. I know a girl who is bipolar, and her moods change quickly. Of course, she does use it as an excuse to be a complete and utter b#tch most of the time, so I’m sure a lot of her moods are exaggerated, but not all of them. I am not commenting on bipolar people in general, just her. She is the only bipolar person that I know.

    • Your_Mom says:

Actually, there are varying types of cycles… and people that have rapid cycling BPD do cycle from moment to moment… And I do appreciate humor at it’s expense. If I didn’t I’d probably kill myself. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I’m not kidding.

    • Bobbin says:

Unless if you’re like me, who has rapid cycling bipolar.

  16. not_write says:

did anyone else notice that the last post was made “a few seconds ago”? I’m calling fake troll, person posts the comment for personal giggles, screen grabs, and deletes. of course if the person were to check the e-mail for what was said then s/he’d be in for it.

  17. Ptree says:

I seriously can’t stand how uneducated people are in retrospect to bipolar disorder, and how over-diagnosed it is. I’ve been living with a genuine manic depressive for the last ten years, and it’s not something to laugh about. I’ve seen my brother break chairs, I’ve seen my brother break his knuckles against the wall, I’ve seen him stay in bed for a week with no food or light, I’ve been threatened to be killed by him many times and I’ve seen him on a high where he nearly killed himself. There is nothing remotely amusing about the disorder, and it is not, in any way, the equivalent of mood swings.
tl;dr: bipolar disorder is not something to joke about.

  18. Starkk says:

I grew up with extreme OCD, ordinary ADD, depression, anxiety, and terrets. I laugh at jokes about any of it still.

  19. emily m. says:

Not funny. Extremely offensive and incorrect. Bipolar isn’t just a “mood swing” disorder. It’s extreme and can really ruin people’s lives.

  20. edhla says:

What a lousy thing for someone to say to another who’s just been diagnosed with a serious mental illness. I get that people react differently to news like that and they were likely just trying to “lighten the situation”, but seriously.

  21. Americana2 says:

The person who made that their status is an attention seeker. Only histrionic people blast a personal diagnosis over Facebook for everyone to see.

  22. Shipoopi says:

    nb4 mental illness flamewar

  23. anonymous says:

I just want to put out, all you cave trolls making fun of Bi-polar because you’re prejudice, be quiet. Bi-polar is a real disease, it does exist, it is a serious mental ilness

  24. kricky says:

I just want to point out to a few of you that BPD does not stand for Bipolar disorder, as Bipolar is one word. BPD actually stands for Borderline Personality Disorder. Wow, read a f***ing book once in a while dimwits.

  25. Martin says:

LMAO!! I’m a doctor and sent this link to one of my patients (and friends) who has bipolar disorder. Needless to say, he absolutely pissed himself! As did I. Best thing i’ve heard for months!

  26. Katrina says:

The fail was funny, but not anybody’s opinion! Chill out and have a laugh. Like the doc said….If a bipolar sufferer can find it funny and not offensive then the rest of you need to grow up and stop arguing just for the sake of it!
