Texas is a pretty big state. I’m curious to know what part you lived that has you dissing the whole. I’ve actually seen more racism in upstate New York and Northern Colorado than I have in South Texas- all places I’ve lived. Unfortunately bigotry is everywhere and not just confined to the southern states.
Texas isn’t really a deep south state, it’s like the gateway to the west. I’m curious to know just how the economy would be affected if the original confederate states receded. probably not by much, if it didnt improve.
When I said “South Texas” I meant that’s where I’m from geographically in the state of Texas (as opposed to say North Texas). I couldn’t agree more that Texas is a gateway to the West as opposed to a “deep south” state (of the union).
Lol…seriously, I love that the chick with two first names (typically something people associate with being a hick) is dispensing the anti-bigotry smackdown. Awesome.
Well, they probably didn’t care about the Americans in West Virginia who got stuck in a mine a few months back. The history of the past century clearly proves that Americans care more about the rest of the world than any other nation.
“…Americans care more about the rest of the world than any other nation.”
Did you just repeat yourself, or did you mean Americans care about the rest of the world more than any other SINGLE nation. Because that would make sense. And is probably true for just about anyone. If one country is threatening the rest of the world with nuclear weapons, you do you best to neutralize the threat, thereby putting the rest of the world before any single nation.
This is assuming that is what you meant, and what you said was just a typo and wasn’t just nonsensical gibberish.
Oh, wait, never mind. I was looking at it in the wrong context. My bad. You basically meant that Americans were more charitable than any other nation, towards the rest of the world. That I agree with.
First, saying “America” is really vague…. North America, South America… It is really dumb when people say “America” and mean USA.
Second, um… really? We “got the money”, huh? Where is it?? And, as far as I’VE learned, history doesn’t actually prove that we’re only charitable for money. Oh… And that’s not called charity when people do that.
Third, yeah, some US citizens are complete idiots. I bet some Argentinians are, too. I don’t think you can say “while we do”, talking about learning history. I’m sure there’s plenty of drop-outs/brain-deads/complete retards in Argentina, just like in the US. I know I’m learning about other countries’ geography and history as part of my school courses…
Sorry if I offend, but I really don’t like it when people are all uppity when they’re telling people not to be uppity.
OK, I understand how it’s easy from looking at history (especially from the viewpoint of a South American, the USA did some pretty bad stuff in that region for purely economic reasons) to get the impression that as a people/country the US is entirely motivated by greed, but that is pretty generalizing, and also not true. Call it vanity if you like, but the US likes being altruistic enough to give aid to plenty of countries in need. Also, how does it gain money by giving it away? I mean in the extreme long term, maybe, but in the short term it’s purely loss. That point is very murky and it kind of mystifies me how you would think that.
Anyways, please don’t make up statistics offhand. Who’s “we”? I don’t know personally, but I doubt the average Argentinian knows ridiculously more about history and geography than the average estadounidense (to borrow a phrase, since the use of “American” seems to be a touchy point for you).
Also, we are really self-hating and guilty as a people (because we keep getting told we’re greedy and awful) so you probably shouldn’t go ahead and believe what we say about ourselves.
First, AMERICA is not just the USA, kay? There are about 30 more countries in America.
(…)
You people are charitable already. Now go work on pulling your heads out of your asses.
This is from Argentina.
(Some of you don’t even believe we have computers in this country.).”
I TOTALLY agree, ( te banco flaca) most of the ” americans” like you love to call yourselves do not care to know anything outside their country, ask them where is Uruguay? Paraguay? Argentina? they think the USA is the only country in the whole continent.
Try not to be so selfish, your image around the world is terrible. it’s true that people generalizes often, but if you look at all theses comments, i think that 80% of the people that wrote here is like that.
“i think that 80% of the people that wrote here is like that.”
Uhhh… You think 80% of the people on Failbook=the majority of Americans? FAIL.
And it would take a pretty ignorant, uneducated fool to think that the US is the only country in the continent. As in, a 2 year old or some abused slave child.
First of all. Our country is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Commonly referred to as AMERICA, but most nations. AMERICA is us. North America is a continent. South America is a continent. 30 countries are just that countries, not 30 Americas. Yes we believe you have computers I just think you’re an idiot and could probably put it to better use in researching before your hate rant.
Secondarily, we are wealthy because we work ourselves to death for it and ingrates across the world talk down to us even over our charitable giving and especially in this situation. We gave overwhelming amounts of money, supplies and charity to the rest of the world. Saved most nations from Nazi and Japanese rule, and still a majority of them hate us. So big question is. What the has Argentina done for the world lately? ………(crickets chirping )….. That’s what I thought.
Third, you haters love to hate all Americans because of two douchebags. Considering your own douchbaggery, should i therefore apply your logic and hate all of the people in Argentina because of your hate for us? I actually love your food, culture and country. Should I just kinda stop that now?
And lastly, AMERICANS meaning USA were a HUGE and INSTRUMENTAL part of getting the Chilean miners to safety along with all of the other people involved. You have just earned a big “go youreself” award.
And just to add salt on top of the OWNED status! A few of the many links showing us dumb bigotted Americans who can’t find a country on a map, not only finding the country but yet again being instrumental in rescuing people we aparently hate.
1. When I watch the international news channels, reporters say “the United States” or “the US”, not “America”. The USA is the United States of America, its own name says it’s is a collection of states in the continent of North America. It is easy for people to be confused if you are not specific. America is a slang term, and within the US it doesn’t matter which term you use.
2. We aren’t wealthy because we work, we are wealthy because we are a young country with a ton of resources. Even though we work longer hours than countries in the EU, it is shown that our productivity is about the same as those in the EU.
3. Most people dislike Americans for being rude and ignorant. America has a self-image that is causing us to do very stupid things politically and needs to be corrected.
Most people view America as extremely bigoted and self-righteous. You are not helping that image with your attitude.
“America” was first used as far as 1507 to name the continent(s) discovered by Christopher Columbus when Italian cartographer Americo Vespucci realized it wasn’t India. The U.S.A. wasn’t founded until 1775. Law of the First, America = Continent.
your just splitting hairs dumbass. its all sematics. what does america mean? technically it did refer to the continent(s) as a whole, but seriously when people say american what do you think? USA of course. its in my countries name. United STates of America. so it makes sense that we would call our country America and considering were are called Americans i see no problem by calling USA america.
why would canada call themselves americans? they are canadians. they are NORTH americans, but not americans.
“when people say american what do you think? USA of course.”
Wrong. A huge chunk of the world still thinks American=someone from America (the continent)
“its in my countries name. United STates of America. so it makes sense that we would call our country America and considering were are called Americans i see no problem by calling USA america.”
Once again, wrong. Your country’s name is the “United States of America”, not “America”. Second, “we would call our country” excactly, YOUR country. The rest of the world disagrees (Spanish and Portuguese speakers call you “estadounidense” and the francophones call you “étatsunitien”). You see no problem, (at least) Latin America does. Also, Canadians are technically Americans. They too live in America (the continent) like Mexicans, Guatemalans, Brazilians, Argentinians and Peruans do. We are all Americans.
I get so tired of this lame “America is not just the USA” argument. What is the Spanish word for someone who is from the United States? Oh right, Americano/a. Do you call people from Canada “americano”? No. The same can be show in nearly all latin-based languages. French, Dutch, German, Italian, etc. People from the USA are called some variation of “American”, thus proving that the world as a whole recognizes “America” as a common representation of the United States. Learn a new song.
“What is the Spanish word for someone who is from the United States? Oh right, Americano/a.”
Wrong. “Estadounidense”. “Americano/a” is from someone from America (the continent).
“Do you call people from Canada ‘americano’?”
If the context requires it, yes.
“The same can be show in nearly all latin-based languages. French, Dutch, German, Italian”
Did you just say Dutch and German come from Latin? Also, how does that fit in all of this?
“People from the USA are called some variation of ‘American’, thus proving that the world as a whole recognizes ‘America’ as a common representation of the United States.”
Wrong. As Boosterseat said “[R]eporters say ‘the United States’ or ‘the US’, not ‘America’. The USA is the United States of America, its own name says it’s is a collection of states in the continent of North America”.
I still don’t understand why women date guys like that in the first place. There are countless nice single guys, yet the stupid and mean guys get all of the dates.
Yeah, ’cause it’s a total tragedy that a girl wants to confide in you and be your friend, and here you are, being all nice and stuff and listening to her (unlike those other guys who just wanna do her, you’re totally more classy than that), and why isn’t she doing you already!you put time into this.
I also thought they were being facetious at first, but by the time I got done reading it, my hope faded. It reads like two legitimate morons spewing idiocy. Since we can only speculate, I’m going to have to go on the assumption that they’re serious.
No I’m not 15, but I did grow up in the south. You’d be surprised what some rednecks will say… I know more people who would actually say this than I can count on my fingers and toes.
I actually think it is Dillon’s fault about the Chile miners. Well… at least it’s somebody’s fault. If he phrased his derision this way I would agree with him: how pathetic is your country when your big international rallying moment revolves around your lack of workplace safety laws and fast crisis resolution abilities. Or “how the heck is this good publicity?”
Update: Chile politicians now calling for more workers to be stuck in deeper hole for longer so the pols can look even better on TV next time.
It is good publicity because the government was able to contain and manage the crysis as well as rescue all miners without casualties after the mining company itself would not even look into rescuing them.
I think it’s pretty unfair when the US has its disasters and problems (which are to say far more common in the US than the rest of the world) and the whole world lends aid. Then when something happens somewhere else it’s always Americans who are complaining why should they care. This is partly one of the reasons Americans have such bad reputation around the world.
so, America hasn’t lent aid to disasters in othe parts of the world?
I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over all the battleships, planes, and helicopters heading to other parts of the world for tsunami/earthquake/genocide relief.
America may lend aid of course, like any country does, but then you get half of the US complaining about it. I live in Latin America, it’s pretty much socialism here and America isn’t liked by the general public but damn, I didn’t hear people complaining when Katrina hit the US and the rest of the world helped out. Yet when Haiti and this happened it’s all about Americans asking why they should help out at all, and trying to impose American Supremacy, it’s all bulls**t.
As for the battleships and, look… you can start your own wars and feed on all the propaganda, but the rest of the world knows America plans its wars according to economical cycles and business.
Oh please…. America lent aid for tsunamis and earthquakes as much as it was aided for Katrina, It’s not like you excel at it so much that you can afford to criticize the rest of the world. Still Americans think its their burden to aid other countries and they’re pretty outspoken about it.
No, sorry, Rodo, the United States spends more on humanitarian aid than any other nation on the planet. We’re always there to help, and honestly, we really don’t get credit for it. You know, because we’re just a bunch of arrogant, jingoistic, cowboy rubes.
You’re beneath an imbecile. Not only is the American government consistently the largest global donor of disaster relief funds to other countries year after year after year, but the American people add to that every time with millions and millions and millions of dollars out of their own pockets to add to the government’s contribution. And again, that private contribution, like the US govt’s public contribution, dwarves those of other countries.
So the reality is the exact opposite of what you are saying; far from being annoyed at helping others, Americans — both at the governmental and individual levels — are the most compassionate, giving people on this planet.
God, people piss me off. Yes, the U.S. gives more aid than any other country, BUT it gives LESS money per capita than any other first world country. And we always complain about it, like was mentioned above me. If we’re still citing the world wars for the good we’ve done, you know something’s wrong. And as for Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan (as is mentioned below), I’m pretty sure they would have been much happier had we “just let them all rot.” Not to mention, I’m pretty sure we’ve only exacerbated the rise of extremism and … well, I could go on for a while, but that’s not here nor there.
I love living in the U.S. There are so many things I love about our country. However, the majority of U.S. citizens are not what I love about my country. Damn, it’s embarrassing that I’m the same species as many of you, let alone the fact that I’m from the same country.
“I love living in the U.S. There are so many things I love about our country. However, the majority of U.S. citizens are not what I love about my country. Damn, it’s embarrassing that I’m the same species as many of you, let alone the fact that I’m from the same country.”
seriously? they gave millions? lets see how did china help US. Its not millions nor billion. last i heard it was trillion? let me draw the figure for you -> 1 000 000 000 000. thats alot of zeros!
That was more along the line of a loan than a donation. That’s not charity, that’s business. I seriously doubt China can see any reason to help the U.S. with anything unless they can get something out of it. Right now they basically own us because we’re so in debt with them.
Well excuse us for fighting WWI, WWII, the Cold War, the Vietnam War, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Next time we’ll just let Europe and the Middle East rot. Not to mention all the aid we’ve given for natural disasters like Haiti, and giving aid to the Japanese to help rebuild after World War II.
Yeah, we helped Japan rebuild after we saved their entire population from their own military leaders. If we didn’t drop the bomb Japan the majority of the Japanese population would have died because their military leaders refused to quit fighting even after all hope was lost. The bombs succeeded in saving millions of lives by finally waking Hirohito up and getting him to take control of his own country back.
Millions? Japan was about to surrender when you guys dropped the A-bomb. It is estimated 20000 people would’ve died if Japan was invaded, unlike the 200 THOUSAND people (and counting) that are still suffering the after effects of Fatman and Little Boy. Also, even if Japan trained his younger population into an army (like Germany tried to do so in the Battle of Berlin), Japanese surrender was inminent, dropping the A-bombs was just to show power. Also, fighting WWI & II, the Cold War, Vietnam and Afghanistan? Need I remind you that 1 you showed ub late for BOTH world wars, 2 the cold war was just an immature conflict about Americans hating the Soviets, 3 Vietnam was just a useless war that wasted lives and money for nothing because North Vietnam still won the war, as for Afghanistan, you guys can’t search for Bin Laden. Do I even need to mention the millions of lives in Latin America that died because of American interventions like in Guatemala and Chile? America may have done good things, but the bad things it has also done are not even mentioned. Just less than 10 years ago Japanese-Americans FINALLY had an apology from the U.S. government because of the internment camps BUILT IN 1942! I’m sorry Giggidy, but that attitude is why the world hates the U.S.A.
Japan killed and maimed tens of thousands and caused untold suffering. There were no signs Japan was about to surrender. If there were it was only learned after the war. We aimed to stop the war quickly. They had that comin. Drop the bomb. Drop it twice. And if another country wants to sneak attack us again. They’ll get it ten times worse.
Japan would’ve surrendered in August 1945 because of the Soviet intervention
Heavy American casualties for a Japanese invasion were stated as an excuse to use atomic bombs, in reality, a US invasion of Japan was never seriously on the agenda by the US military because it wasn’t needed to end the war given that the Soviet Union was obliged to invade Japan as part of a treaty they made with the US at the Yalta Conference.
Also taking into account that 600,000 Japanese soldiers surrendered to the Soviets during the Soviet invasion of Manchuria, disproves the theory that every Japanese was ready to fight to the death.
Japan was not even close to surrendering when we dropped the bomb, in fact they didn’t even want to surrender after the first one. The estimates on how many would have died in the invasion was over 1 million U.S casualties and almost the entire Japanese population as they would have fought to the death for every inch of land. They had trained children to strap explosives to themselves and run under tanks. No one would have been spared for the Japanese because they wouldn’t let it happen, they trained people how to fight with pitch forks. So yes, it was a show of power, a show of power to force the Japanese to surrender. If you truly cared about the peoples lives you would have brought up the fire bombings, which killed many more lives. The only reason people bring up the Atomic bombs and not the fire bombings is because everyone bombed cities in world war 2, but since we are the only ones to have used Atomic bombs we can be blamed for it.
You are going to complain that we didn’t intervene during world war 1 and 2, but complain that we got involved in Vietnam, a war that started with the French. Do you want us to get in other peoples wars or not? At least the Japanese got an apology, Japan still denies the atrocities they committed during ww2, including the massacre of an estimated 30 million Chinese, not to mention the countless other atrocities. It’s obvious you have no idea what you are talking about and hate America because it’s the new cool thing to do.
Come back when you learn what you are talking about, until then good day.
Then it got bigger when I learnt about your interventions in Latin America and your changes in history (America=World Savior and “Che Guevara is a racist” to name a few). As you can see, it’s not about fashion, it’s about their wars.
yes, because bombing actual military bases is inconceivable!!! It HAD to be major population centers. destroying the military leaders we “saved” them from wouldn’t work, oh no, we had to kill THEM instead!!!
the vietnam war was a terrible thing, the majority of the vietnamese population were in favor of communism, but the “democratic” leader refused to let them have an election
I’m sorry, I must have missed that part where I said it gave us free reign to criticize other parts of the world. Oh, I must have missed the part where other parts of the world aiding America gave you the right to criticize America.
okay as much as you americans annoy the crap out of me you do have a point, however the global image that you have as an american is as an ignorant, gun totin, chew spittin, sister screwing inbred, and those steriotypes have to come from somewhere, i’m just saying
did you get what he meant? he said they might have help.. and why do they need battleships for tsunami’s aid? its not a freaking war? you might need to restate that SHIPOOPI i might suggest to you that it is call a Working Navy Ship. you really do a lot of internet googling.
however the american web security for the battleships aren’t that easy to be track on the web. Do you think it will be given that easy? once the taliban know where it is they will fly an unman vehicle to your battleships. think about the logic in it if you’re talking to a war tactician. never mind google they dont have every single answer for every single thing.
I’d rather just state my point and not get into a heated debate with you. My point is, while America does give aid to other countries, as you said, it has built up a reputation of being somewhat war-hungry, evidenced by the war in the East. Don’t bother giving me the whole WW2 speech, because Hitler declared war on the US, not the other way around. I’ll give you the Vietnam war, though, because you didn’t HAVE to do that, but did anyway.
Um, wasn’t it technically Japan that declared war on the US, not Hitler?
Nitpicking, I know… There was a certain amount of alliance, of course, but it was Japan’s beef with America that led to them taking that action, Hitler was busy, y’know, in Europe and such.
No, Hitler declared war on the US, Japan just sealed the deal with the attack on Pearl Harbor. I think. I never really looked into it, so you’re probably right.
Rodo, what the heck are you talking about?
How many other countries did you see come to help here after Katrina? How many other countries did you see come here to help after the flooding in the farmlands (ND I believe?)
Now when the tsunami hit, Americans were one of the first on hand to help. When the Russian Sub sunk, we were there to help, but Putin refused to let us help, so those poor men died. With Chile, NASA helped, as did a PA Mining company. When the earthquake hit Haiti, American soilders were some of the first there to help with the rescue.
Learn your facts before you start slamming the US of A!
You have that backwards. The U.S. sends aid to every single disaster. Then when we have a crisis, the world shrugs its collective shoulders and remarks about how inefficient we are.
You may not want to believe everything Fox News tells you.
The US is not alone in giving aid. Plenty of other countries give aid too (and plenty of other countries spend more per capita on aid than the US does). I can’t remember anyone on this side of the pond ever calling the US “inefficient”. Lots of other words, yes, but not “inefficient”.
Agree with Starling. Not to mention the USA got quite a lot of help from foreign nations regarding Katrina (and other disasters).
Well, the US government does help in disasters, and some citizens are happy about that because they realize a human life is a human life regardless of the passport they own.
The debate here is critical of American individuals (emphasize ‘individuals’) who don’t care about the rest of the world. So nothing to do with what the government does.
Easier … to give … more … per capita???? Please tell me you’re joking. Where the heck do you think governments get the money they spend?? From the people? From taxing people. Thus, how do you get more money? You tax MORE PEOPLE. Plus, if you really want an idea of how much a country can give, why don’t you look at GDP. I don’t know if you’re living in lalaland or what, but we, the U.S. have a pretty damn high GDP.
Most citizens in the United States already give money other than taxes to help countries facing disasters, especially in the upper classes.
Plus, the United States has a freer market and lower taxes than many other countries, so instead of donating of their own free will, people give their money to the government, and the government decides what to use and what to give.
This argument would be easier to make an argument one way or the other if we knew what countries starling was talking about.
You cannot be serious. It doesn’t depend on the amount of people living in the country, it depends on the wealth and level of life of its citizens. Or would you expect countries like Ethiopia or Haiti (who surely have a small fraction of 300 million people as population) to be able to donate more money than the US?
I’m sorry and really saying this without sarcasm, but I’m really not familiar with US disasters where other countries have lent significant aid. Canada sure, Mexico probably – like for oil spills near their coastlines. But generally I don’t think this is the dominant paradigm as our per cap wealth means flow of aid is net OUT of the US for disasters.
OK I looked into it for Katrina – about $100M each from Bahrain and UAE which is awesome. Not near as much from other countries but there were much appreciated efforts to help, often with specific supplies or personnel. But to say that on average that aid inflow is the norm is backwards as many here have pointed out.
‘I think it’s pretty unfair when the US has its disasters and problems (which are to say far more common in the US than the rest of the world) ‘
Now that viewpoint is exactly why people complain. The US is NOT the country with the most disasters and problems on the planet.
Stop acting all hard-done-by.
Well i think its more that the rest of the world is illiterate and can’t read a single news paper or the thousands of websites out there that show the fact that a team of drillers from the United States and their company came to Chile worked tirelessly at the drilling site, using their designed equipment to get the miners out in HALF the time as was originally projected. Other than that it’s simple hate and envy of what we have and who we are. Bigots are everywhere, not just here. So, yet again ugly Americans to the rescue.
Oh no, the country is not pathetic, it’s just that as of lately the government is taking any chance it has to feed the media circus with events to cover up the more controversial decisions they are making, as of now the miners have been a smokescreen for the proposals for the privatization of certain state industries, a conflict with the mapuches (the native people of the territory), as well as other things.
So if you from other countries are tired of our dear joker of a president making a big show out of the miners, you can guess we are too. I am glad they are out, and safe. But i am guessing they will feel trapped again the following months by all the media obsesion that has come up. So will we for all that matters.
Seriously? There are problems in every country. The basic fact is that this has been the most impressive rescue ever. Mines have collapsed in “first world” countries (USA, for example) with much more money than us and they haven’t been able to rescue the miners. It’s a miracle of human ingenuity and solidarity that our miners were rescued. The problems that Chile faces are minimal compared to most other “third world” nations. I have to admit, even though I never really liked President Piñera as person, he’s done a great job. And I definitely wouldn’t say that they’re using this as a smokescreen. The fact that BBC World News covered the whole thing from start to finish shows that it isn’t just being hyped up by the Chilean government: it actually is newsworthy internationally.
While i admit that it is an impresive rescue, and a feat of human ingenuity, it is definitly not due to Piñera. I would give the credit to the engeneers that planed it, and the men that carried the rescue. Piñera was there just to take the spotlight every chance he had, it is a smokescreen in that this has gone from being the coverage of an impresive rescue to a reality show. And meanwhile they forgot about other subjects that matter. I do not say that the media shoudn’t have covered the rescue, but it has gone too far.
DAMM Rigth!…Its not miners fault have being there for 2 months, and now this swines made a reality show from their own mistake, god i hate politicians, specially the president.
im from chile and i kinda understand Dillon, but all of you from the states (NOT AMERICA!) are lucky… im stuck in a hole of media, every hour and every place i go there is people talkin about them. ” what a touching moment”, “hurray for the goverment, they are such a bunch of good guys”…
and to make a closure, i wonder how many of us would take 17 days in a 4×5 meters with other 32 people, not many food and water, extreme heat and the worst part of all…. NOT INTERWEBS!!!
Please don’t judge us Estadounidenses by the ignorant trolling imbeciles on this website. There is a loud, brainwashed minority (or I keep telling myself its the minority) of U.S. citizens who make it bad for the rest of us.
I didn’t either, but all this celebration on TV of this man made miracle has been enlightening. To improve you need to kick some major corporate or political azz when these disasters happen – someone needs to take the blame and go down hard, and laws need to be passed. That should be the focus.
I mean seriously – people were waving the miners out of the way of the cameras the other day – “get out of the shot, we’ve got to show the tube apparatus!”
You seem to be confusing me for someone who said the US didn’t have mining disasters, as opposed to someone who said Chile was lame for having theirs all over the news.
But thanks for proving the point by coming up with one few have heard of.
More specifically, having theirs all over the news as some huge success story. As in the reaction is “aren’t we awesome for saving these people”, as opposed to the reaction “holy crud we suck, a bunch of people almost died”.
Yes, we are all learning from magnificent USA and are very sorry that our third world problems bother you so much, in the future we will try no to make it to the news so you don’t have to be bothered with our incompetence and idiocy, sorry.
So I was happy to hear about the miners in Chile being freed from the cave in since I have been hearing about them from when they were first trapped. It was big news in Chile and all over the Chile TV channel. Each of them was represented by a flag from their country during the bicentennial celebration and it was really moving. It was nice to see people caring so much for their fellow man.
And then I read this and I learn to hate humanity all over again.
At least Shelbylynne can spell. Dillon goes on and on about how she’s making herself look stupid, when the fact is he’s the one who can’t spell worth a damn. True, she has problems with capitalization (maybe her shift and CAPs button broke???), but other than that at least she doesn’t sound like an ignorant hick who obviously couldn’t pass an elementary level spelling exam.
You got a point. And I’m counting the capitalization issue as probably laziness on her part, which doesn’t bother me nearly so much as all-out ignorance. I’m lazy myself with certain grammar rules, at least when it comes to conversational situations like facebook.
I’m in the UK. I’ve started reading Dutch newspapers to actually find out about foreign news. The UK newspapers here are becoming more and more like the US newspapers. Blind to the world (unless there’s a juicy “reality” story somewhere, like the one about the miners).
Yep, so do i or i read TheDailyMash online, (it’s satirical and mightily close to the bone). Personally, I think that even the BBC is starting to go that way.
Have to say though, that those two twats, Dillion and Al, is the epitamy of all that’s wrong with not just the US but the rest of the world in general too.
“Care” is worth less than even being “curious”. What you really want is hate. Please tell us which flag you would like us to burn and which embassy we should attack… Nah, we still don’t care.
people of the U.S.A., feel so superb, they see themselves as the highest kind of people in the world and they dont care about others, they see other color, they say it is freak. they see Japanese, they mistook it for Chinese, saying they are the same, and dumb and suckers. They see Mexican, they say, drug cartels. does the “American” people really see themselves as the greatest? pity on this people, they are worse than the Nazis, Racist… they deserve to be killed by terrorists and the North Koreans and Iranians if they dont change their ways and be humble, too much proudness of themselve, their Pride eats them.
I cant laugh on a post like this. I just pity the people who feel they are so superb but they are really not.
Like who cares about the people in Chile? the word “People” says same species as they are, regardless of Nationality and Race, so they must give a to these people too, just even a little.
Pfft, like we amazing Americans care about wherever you come from. We’re the bestest country ever, which is why we all so smart and rich and stuff. We’re the highest kind of peeps in the world, and everybody else is a drug cartel. Hah, we’re awesome.
Faceplant-
You must feel fairly superior yourself to condemn and entire country to be murdered based on your own personal stereotypes. If you look back up and read that post one more time you will see a contradiction to everything you just said right there coming from the mouth of a (probably) 15 year old girl, and I say as an individual NOT as an American that it is people like you that label an entire race or country instead of taking time for the individual that I truly hate.In your own words “People says same species as they are”
Thanks for that sweeping generalization. You’re right, there certainly are Americans like you say – and this failbook post proves it – but we are. not. all. like. that.
I didn’t think for one second that you were all like that. But sometimes I wish I didn’t read websites like these, where ignorant Americans seem to congregate, bleating about how maligned they are, how great they are, and how the rest of the world should bow down before them. They just reinforce the very stereotype they’re complaining about, and hence exacerbate the problem that obviously annoys them.
Yeah, well who else has absolutely no life and time to waste being obnoxious on these websites other than pathetic lowlifes who are so self-centered and arrogant that … oh … wait … I need to get off this website and go do something constructive …
You have to realize that you’re on the site called “Fail Blog”, wherein you’ll see the stupidest and lowliest of people some of the time. Yes, it’s sad that people like Dillon and Al exist, but you can’t get rid of their ignorance by ranting about how they need to be exterminated. In the end all that does is bring about more hate and ignorance, repeating the cycle forever and ever.
Come on, Japan China and Mexico are all more racist the USA. And the first two would certainly be attempting to conquer the world and exterminate other peoples if the US wasn’t in the way.
Yes, there is a continent named North America, and another named South America. Collectively, they are called the Americas (note plural). There is nothing on this earth named just “America”, but when the term is used by itself, it almost invariably means the USA.
In Latin America, “America” Is used for the whole Western Hemisphere. It’s considered one continent so saying “American” is like saying “European.”
We’re the only country in America to actually call ourselves that. In all of Spanish-peaking America and Brazil they just say estadounidense (Spanish, too lazy for Portuguese version)
This matter sometimes does annoy me, as I bet 99% of Americans don’t know this, and just assume everyone says American.
Partly wrong. Some countries teach one American continent, named America.
MOST of the world regards it as two continents, North and South America. But apparently Spain, Portugal, and some Latin American countries teach it as the continent of America (singular).
Technically there isn’t really a “wrong” when it comes to that. It’s more of a personal preference. I could regard Eurasia as a continent, but most people probably wouldn’t agree. It’s all man made boundaries anyway.
Wrong. If Wikipedia can be relied on for something is for knowing how the same term is referred to in many languages. I checked, and out of the 106 languages I had a notion of (many are very similar), only seven referred to the continent as the Americas. SEVEN. And even more, one of those seven was Interlingue (artificial language, different from the other artificial language Interlingua) and the other one was Simple English. So much for your “most of the world”
Besides, I may add that the first time this land wasn’t considered the West Indies but a whole new land, it was called “America” (after Americo Vespucio), and was only a single continent? It was later that English-speakers and the other four languages made it plural.
MMmmm.. this got a little off topic. The important thing here is that these three (Dillon, Al and Shelbylynne) are idiots. The thing about the Chilean miners is a very different topic.
A post on Cheezburger about a cartoon gets a chuckle or two. One about religion or nationalist stupidity and the flames start flying. Why can’t these people just stop? It never solves anything. It just makes you look like a jackass. I know America is a great nation, but it has its flaws too, just like every other country.
I agreez with Greg. No body or nation is perfect. I’m from the south, and consider my self sorta smart. I’m not rocket surgeon though, he he. But debating world issues on cheezburger network is sort of pointless and acheives nothing. The mining siutation was not a national disaster like flooding, or earthquake….it was a human crisis situation. I have to believe most people in the world watched and were happy with the outcome.
It is sad and pathetic that American dollars went towards this rescue. Just another example of how Obama supports other nationalities more than Americans.
Oh yeah the trillions of dollars spent in bailouts (funded with Chinese aka Communist money) to help Americans who stupidly bought houses they couldn’t afford compared to a couple of million in humanitarian aid really is a sign the US government cares more about the rest of the world than it does its own citizens /sarcasm
Idiot, I’ll admit Obama’s not a great POTUS (his healthcare reforms were just plain silly) but at least he recognises the world doesn’t begin and end at the US border and at least he actually has some semblance of a foreign policy instead of the “Yee f**kin’ Haa we’re the US and we’re here to bomb the f*ck out of you” foreign policy that the previous govenment had.
Don’t forget to mention the huge bailouts to GM when they nearly went bankrupt because people stopped buying their massive SUV’s in favour of smaller, non-gas guzzling cars (foreign or not, Ford and Chrysler I believe were still doing fine).
Why don’t you show your ignorance by generalizing a bit more. Anyways, didn’t you just point out that America is an amalgamation of different countries rather then just the U.S.? And then you called everyone in the Americas stupid and uneducated. My country infuriates me probably more than it ever will infuriate you, but I’m not a complete d****e, most of the time, like you.
goooooooooooooooooood….. aren’t these fails supposed to be funny? I’m astonished by the fact that no one else has pointed out the fact that this post is absolutely boring and useless. This is seriously the worst, most boring facebook fail that I’ve ever seen and that’s saying A LOT!
Al and Dillon actually type like they have some semblance of a brain compared to most rednecks who have found their way to Facebook. All of my BF’s friends’ posts look like a monkey jumped on the keyboard compared to these.
1: The Union frickin WON, the rebels lost. Roll up your flag and bury it, then have some moonshine and cry yourselves to sleep, ya f**ktards.
2: Any man who treats a female like that is less than the Big Red I scraped off my shoes last night. Even more annoying as well as a waste of time and disgusting, for clarification.
3: Peter was eating popcorn and constantly reloading the page while this was going on. Therefore, he wins at things.
4: Chile. *sigh*… Look, the USA sucks at global politics. Who doesn’t know this? But, so does the rest of the world. In general. We’ve helped pretty much everyone out, trying to play nice, maybe get a good word put in for some alliance or what-have-you. Yes, it’s actually just very elaborate and subtle imperialism. But at least we’re helping out. Didn’t see any other countries over here when Mt. St. Helens blew, or the whole Katrina disaster, or 9/11. Yes, 33 miners getting trapped in a hole is rather sad, but even if they died, I don’t think the world outside of Chile would really give a care. There are bigger and more serious problems at hand in the world than 33 FRICKIN MINERS TRAPPED IN A HOLE! Africa. Southeast Asia. The Middle East. Yeah. Those are still there.
Ok, honestly dude?
“Didn’t see any other countries over here when Mt. St. Helen’s blew, or the whole Katrina disaster, or 9/11.”
W.T.F?
We had international help with EVERY single one of those problems.
Ugh. I was agreeing with you until you got to 4 and then you became the whiny, “nobody loves me, nobody helps me, we do it all by ourselves” bullsh*t that is the reason WHY everyone thinks we are bigoted and uninformed.
Also a side note:
Yeah, it was thirty three men. Thirty three men with families and friends. Thirty three men in their prime, thirty three men who showed cooperation and the enduring nature of the human spirit when it had to be tough. How DARE you decide who’s life is worth more than another persons?
I guarantee if it was you down there, you would hope to all that is good that getting you out was someone’s top priority.
*I was agreeing with you until you got to point 4 and started the whiny, “Nobody loves me, nobody helps me, we do it all by ourselves” bullsh*t that is the reason WHY everyone thinks we are bigoted and uninformed.
I’m ashamed of how awful that sentence was. I swear, I usually am fairly literate!
I think you just missed something… he said “If it was in America”….
let me tell you… Chile IS in America, America is a continent.
Maybe someone else said this before, but i’m not going to read 160 comments…
BTW… some of you guys needs to chill out a little…
Saying America refers to the United States (of America), when referring to the CONTINENTS, you have to add North or South before hand so people know what you’re talking about.
Actually, America is a whole continental mass. And then according to what you say, what would Central America be?
Yep, the US is one thing and the American continent is another one. Though the context refers to US, in a general picture, from Canada to Argentina we live in the same land, and therefore are “American”
Americans = are such trash they believe hating other countries is having pride in their own. But really, you’re just giving justification to what the rest of the world already thinks about you: Ignorant.
Well right now you’re hating the United States. At least that’s what I assume you mean by saying “America” which could refer to two separate continents.
The United States is a country, and you’re basically saying you hate it, by saying “WorldwoulddbebetterwithoutUSA”, so is this a form of pride of your own country or do you have some other form of irrational justification?
I was born in America, and I do not discriminate against any country or its people. I know many other Americans who feel the same way. You are generalizing, profiling, and stereotyping. Do you understand what that symbolizes?
Ignorance.
North and South America are generally accepted to be separate continents. They haven’t been widely considered a single continent since roughly WWII. Though the ARE apparently taught as a single continent, known as America, in several countries. I’m guessing you live in one of these countries.
No, that’s not entirely correct. But that’s ok, that would explain why most of the people in the US doesn’t understand why they are only 5 ring in the Olympic Flag.
and it has 3 regions.
South America
central america
and North America
Errrm… N&S America are only considered one ring… and I’ve known that since I was like 7… though they each are considered one different continent… Central is part of NA, though specifically central America only counts for a very small chunk of that isthmus.
They are considered one ring because it’s one freaking continent!!!! And central is not part of NA! And it’s not a very small chunk, it has 7 countries on it! Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.
I agree with Memo. Central America and North America are two different things. And Alex, “central America only counts for a very small chunk of that isthmus”… really? Central America IS the isthmus; though it’s called the Isthmus of Panama geographically it’s not only Panama but all of these countries you seem to regard so unimportant, “only a chunk”
DUDES this has gotten so off topic its about a racist guy getting owned by his girlfriend. YES, they are most likely teenagers, but aren’t most posts here about teenagers? do you think 30-year-olds are spending time creating failbook submissions? anyway, quit insulting america, chile, and other nations, and just enjoy the funny. GODS.
btw a lot of america is pretty ignorant, but not all of us. stop making this a hating post. i admit i get frustrated at idiots who are clueless and annoying, but WHATEVER. just laugh at them and get on with your life.
this is absolutely ridiculous. honestly. people would still care all around the world. the whole world was watching in tears except the U.S. I’m never getting on this website again. period. this is the most ridiculous thing i have head in my life. not funny and very rude. maybe some people should have consideration for people born in chile. i don’t know like me. i’m completely white and speak perfect english. you would mistake me for someone who was born here. a lot of people in chile are white so you can’t even say don’t base them on the color of their skin. that’s racist right there. this could honestly be reported and i find this extremely offensive. stuck in a hole? are you kidding me. i do believe it would be very traumatizing getting stuck under ground with 32 other men and having little air supply. this is one of the most amazing things i have seen in a while. it’s the most amazing because Chile has just sufered from a tremendous earthquake bigger than heiti’s. so you are completely incorrect to say nobody really cares. this is ridiculous and is getting reported. i have seen offensive things on this site but haven’t responded or really minded. this out of portions straight up RUDE. if you have anything to say facebook me. i don’t care. go for it. I’ll fight for my country, just as you would yours.
Catalina V Silva
This isn’t the view of Failbook or Failblog, or Cheezburger as a whole. The whole point of posting this was to show the racist confederate degenerate owned by his obviously somewhat smarter ex. If anything this proves that this website is totally against his opinion. The title only emphasizes this. Leaving the site because you saw someone posting something offensive, then being unquestionably proven wrong and basically socially destroyed over Facebook is pointless.
WorldwouldbebetterwithoutUSA = is such trash he/she believes hating other countries is having pride in his/her own. But really, you’re just giving justification to what the rest of us already thinks about you: Ignorant.
haha loved it… and you know what Americans? the whole rest of the globe care much less than you think about those people who died in 9/11. And if we do, it’s because we remeber they’re humans, it’s wasn’t their fault to be have been born there…
Just stop with the unoriginal American bashing already. By trying to bash, you’re only inviting other people to write hateful comments that will in turn support your misconceptions about Americans as a whole, whether or not that person is an American.
And what exactly were you trying to accomplish by writing this?
I would bet the majority citizen of the United States believes that other nations cared not one bit about the people who died in the World Trade Center. So your assessment that “the whole rest of the globe care much less than you think about those people who died in 9/11″ is incorrect. You can thank our government, controlled media, and slowly decaying educational system for allowing such ignorant perceptions to continue to exist. Every nation on this planet has problems. Any citizen of the United States who claims we somehow have a monopoly on tragedy is living in a fantasy. Any person who claims that their nation is problem free is also living in their own version of the aforementioned fantasy. When tragedies occur it is so rare that a single nation shoulders the entire burden of aid that it may as well be said to never happen at all. So arguing about how “no one ever comes to help us,” or “no one else ever does anything,” is a pointless lie to attempt to feel better about yourself and your country while looking like a complete fool.
Every nation has its bad reputation among other nations, deserved or not, and Americans are no different. The seeming majority of U.S. citizens that have the means to frequently travel abroad are bigoted, racist, elitists and those are the people who are remembered most strongly. Those with political power in the United States also tend to fall under the same banner and as such our nation is being represented, much to my dismay, by that segment of the population in the main. But every nation is a mixture of personalities so it is impossible for every single person to fall into that mold. Some people you are fortunate to know while others you are fortunate if you never know that is the way of every city, state, and country that I have traveled to. The good news is no nation has a monopoly on stupidity yet, though I admit The United States seems to be working extremely hard to corner the market, Uwe makes my case in this matter. So thank you for posting.
Cheers,
JJJ
See Uwe’s original post above this one.
JJJ’s proofread and edit:
haha loved it… and you know what Americans? The rest of the globe cares much less than you think about the people who died in the 9/11 attack. If they do it’s because they remember the deceased were humans, and it wasn’t their fault that they were born there…
P.S. I took the time to do a cursory proofread and edit of your statement so that it no longer seems like it was posted by an inbred American hick.
P.P.S. As you obviously don’t care about the people who died during the 9/11 attack the use of the term “we”, when referring to remembering that the people that died were human and caring because of that fact, is incorrect. Those people who remember that humans died and care should be “they” so as to exclude yourself properly.
I am not infallible the first line should read, “the majority of citizens of the United States believe” see Americans can even admit to making mistakes.
Memo, you are awesome! That’s exactly right. My original post is the biggest, arrogant, pretentious load of crap I could write. Filled with hate poorly hidden as intellectual bs with popular opinion spewed back up over it. The fake mistake to make yourself seem reasonable when correcting it then adding the snarky end comment is another bs move I see often. My post is even worse than the one it’s responding to because at least Uwe is coming right out and putting his opinion up. Mine, at the core, is just an attempt to sound smart and insult someone. It’s a waste of perfectly good letters. Don’t write garbage like this. It makes you look like a jacka** and only reinforces the negative opinions people in other countries already have of americans. I see posts like this almost every day and there’s no reason they should be anywhere near this comment thread which is about a moron getting pwned by his gf.
For anyone who bothers to read this don’t post crap like this. Just don’t. It makes bunny cry and my eyes bleed.
/rantover
I apologize for adding to the derailment of the thread in order to vent.
back on topic: I second Frakateak. Shlebylynne FTW. I like the rhyme.
for everyone who says don’t generalize americans. it’s true. i do apologize for that i am sure americans watched this as well. and yes i took this this the wrong way. i apologize it just amazes me how some people can be so racist. i’m not racist i love the united states as much as anyone else. i’ve lived here all my life. and around the world 9/11 actually WAS being watched in tears
I think it is simple envy. People hate us for our wealth, for our resources, for our strength and for our military. But given the chance to come here and live the American Dream, every fucking one of the haters would do it in a heartbeat.
So while this douchebag in the fail hates by race others hate by nationality. There’s not a damn bit of difference between the two.
We Americans, who do work, work hard for what we get. We are continually the most productive workers, and most generous people on earth hands down. We build our dreams by living in a capitalist society and hell that dream includes any natural citizen becoming President of the United States. Where else in the world can you go from nothing to being the most powerful person on the planet in a peaceful process?
Other people of other nations would rather hate us for how miserable their lives are and how seemingly good ours are. Most are too damned content with mediocrity and socialism /communism or Shariah, to force a change and become like us.
So let em hate us, we’ll still rescue them, we’ll still send food and supplies and assist with major disasters and yeah we’ll protect them. I wont apologize for America. I’m damn proud to be an American. I am proud of what we have accomplished and how much we give and sacrifice. And if anyone doesn’t like it, then they can go fornicate themselves. Along with the douchebag racist in the fail.
While there are some aspects of your politics I may not completely agree with, I definitely agree with your point that judging based on nationality and judging based on race are the same damned thing.
Ironically, I highly doubt you are the Ugly American I was referring to in my post.
is it just me or did i kill those two on dead rising 2? (if you don’t know what i’m talking about go to youtube then type in “dead rising 2 boss red necks”)
I found it telling that one of the Chilean miners, when interviewed, said that he was “looking forward to spending time with my son, wife, and daughter”.
Ari- Chilean meant Dillon, who is an American. If he/she had meant the US people as a whole, he/she would have said AmericanS.
Sorry if this sounds rude, and I can understand your position after all the hate-posting before, but please look well at the comment and don’t assume they are the same as previous ones
humm… AMERICA is actually a CONTINENT, divided in NORTH AMERICA, INSULAR AMERICA, CENTRAL AMERICA AND SOUTH AMERICA.
If you are smart enough, you can find CHILE on South America, so CHILE is actually located on AMERICA. Just sayin’.
ENOUGH!!!, this has been said a lot, and it really depends on your education, there are SEVEN continental models as you could find here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent . This is an argument without ending since people in the USA (in my understanding) are taught to refer to their country as america, and to the continental land mass integrated by north america, south america (and in some models central america and insular america) as the americas; while in other countries including mine we are taught to refer to the continent as america, and to the USA as… well… the USA, so is really a pointless argument.
Anyway most people I have met in south america thought that my country (México) was in central america… and this happened while I was living in Chile, so… geography is weird, give it a rest.
Al did actually say some stuff of his own. He said that if it were in the US there should be “a little fuss” because they “needed them to work”… I mean, really? What a dumbass
Where ever you’re from, it’s your country, no need to fight over anything we don’t want another war do we? US is US. China is China. It won’t change a single thing unless you’re a President of a country of course. What every single one of you should do is, just carry on with life and take what ever you can take from which ever countries you think fit.
Be happy with what you have, don’t complain, there are more people which has NO internet access. So if you’re into doing charity Drop by on some charity websites and do your

The most retarded thing is not being able to locate Chile on a map. South America is where it resides not in the country of America. We were of course happy to design and build the machinery that brought the miners to safty. Glad that they all made it out safely!
Just because they are stupid does not automatically make them southerners. I grew up in Louisiana, and I take offense to these morons being categorized with me, based solely on their idiocy.
Omg. Are these people really that stupid? I mean, do you guys know that AMERICA is a CONTINENT, NOT A COUNTRY, which can be divided in North-AMERICA AND South-AMERICA, and that on the other hand, THE UNITED STATES of (as in – part of) AMERICA IS a country? Which is also YOUR COUNTRY. I mean, gee, I live in argentina, down south in.. you guessed it: AMERICA. And when I read this page I get surprised at HOW DEEPLY STUPID some of these people in the US are. I never generalize, it’s just this page, it makes you guys look really really bad
Omg. Are you that stupid? I mean, do you know that America is not A CONTINENT. There are the two continents for NORTH AMERICA and SOUTH AMERICA. Which means that when you say America, you can’t be referring to a continent, but you can be referring to the country.
Different countries/people call things by different names. If I, an American, went to the UK and told them they were all idiots for calling an elevator a lift, I’d be incorrect. It’s both.
“America” is how Americans shorten “The United States of America.” The rest of the world calls us Americans. So if we’re wrong, YOU ARE TOO. No one calls us United Statesians. Stop with the semantics.
While I agree with nearly everything you just said, ‘ustadounidense’ does basically translate to ‘United Statesian’ http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/estadounidense
But yea, while a lot of people consider America to refer to one continent (Latin Americans especially), most English speaking countries consider it to refer to the US.
Really it’s like the football debate. Just as pointless and just as amusing to see how many people are so sure they’re right they don’t bother questioning what they know.
geez…this country has a very bad reputation in all around the world, in case you did not know. And mind you people do not want America acting as the police force of the world, whatever is happening in the world is because of America anyway….
Thank you, I have recently been looking for info approximately this topic for ages and yours is the best I have discovered till now. But, what about the conclusion? Are you positive in regards to the supply?
Oh wow, really? I gotta admit, this was actually really funny.
People that say “I believe in the Reble Flag” are normally retarded 11 year old American morons…just saying..
At least they can spell “rebel” correctly
Clearly you have never had the misfortune to live in Texas.
They come a lot older than 11. Technically.
Not true, I live in Northern Colorado, I rarely see any racism here.
And traitors, too, according to the Supreme Court.
I second Peter’s sentiments.
Lol.
we need to talk, zizi
i like your idea!
I third it
Shelbylynne’s got a great point, but an awful name.
Lol…seriously, I love that the chick with two first names (typically something people associate with being a hick) is dispensing the anti-bigotry smackdown. Awesome.
ummm….your name is two first names put together. kate and lynne. just spelled differently lol
No it isn’t. It comes from the Irish ‘Caitlín’ meaning kitten.
No it isn’t. It comes from the Irish ‘Caitlín’, meaning kitten.
No it isn’t. It comes from the name Katherine and means ‘pure’.
Anyway I could meet Shelbylynne? I’d like to shake her hand
Well, just google
“shelbylynne” facebook
and I’m sure you could find a way.
Found her!
Is she hot?
LOL
Not exactly…
EVERYBODY! STORM HER FACEBOOK PAGE TO SEE IF SHE’S HOT!
Found 3
Make that 4: Ingle-Brazier, Rose, Oglesby and Lea
But which one is heeerrr? Do we just message them all linking them here asking “Is this you”?
And I found a lot more than 4..
You can probably tell which one by the length of the censor block in the post.
Meh… if she was it would be a crime to state as such.
I found two, and I can’t tell which one she is… oh well.
perfect.
Maybe we should stick him in a Chilean mine and see if Americans care. Because the Chileans won’t.
Actually, I bet they will.
Chilean: “AHHHH THERE’S A STUPID AMERICAN IN MY MINE!”
A Red-neck xenophobic American in the mine? Cover every entrance!!! Make sure he doesn’t get out!!
Don’t you think the situation is bad enough already for these Chilean workers stuck down there?
They’re out now, so we can stick this guy down there no problem.
I concur with Giggidy. I don’t know about any of you, but I won’t miss two d-bags from America.
This is from the US.
“I’d like to point out some things…
Paz y choripan.
Saludos.

Law of the First, America = Continent.
lol, owned.
your just splitting hairs dumbass. its all sematics. what does america mean? technically it did refer to the continent(s) as a whole, but seriously when people say american what do you think?
Also– did you know that, in general, when major disasters hit Australia contributes more money per person than any other nation?
So, uh– America? You got some competition on the charity field.
USA te usa.
I’m chilean and I give a f**k

Go back to your sea-cave -_-
Loom at my horse. My horse is amazing.
*Look* Dammit.
I still don’t understand why women date guys like that in the first place. There are countless nice single guys, yet the stupid and mean guys get all of the dates.
Only temporarily, apparently.
Well, it appears that relationship ended as soon as she found out what a jerk he is. The whole point of dating is to get to know the other person.
And I still don’t understand why nice guys complain about how they don’t have girls that they never asked out to begin with.
“I don’t want to spoil our friendship”
“I could never date you” *pat pat*
“You’ll find someone”
… been there, bought the shirt.
That’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to …
Yeah, ’cause it’s a total tragedy that a girl wants to confide in you and be your friend, and here you are, being all nice and stuff and listening to her (unlike those other guys who just wanna do her, you’re totally more classy than that), and why isn’t she doing you already!you put time into this.
Signed,
Forever the Female Friend
In my defence, I was only observing the situation, not complaining about my specific case. I know that my inability to talk to women is my own fault.

“don’t tell me what to say, dillon. it’s a free country”
Yeah… these people can’t be older than 15.
Either that, or they’re morons.
Seems pretty clear to me that at least a few of them are morons.
I would say all but maybe Peter. Just because Shelbylynne actually cares about other human beings doesn’t mean she isn’t a moron.
I think she was being facetious and you’re all just too stupid to figure it out. Are you all 15 year olds too??
Bah not she. She’s an idiot as well. I meant Dillon and Al.
Maybe, but she was still right.
“Freeeeee
” country.
This seems a bit staged to me… no one’s REALLY that stupid, right? *looks at more failbook/failblog/LFMF*
Okay… so maybe they are.
Welcome, my brother, to the wonderful world of TEH INTERWEBS!
Give up all brains, ye who enter hither!
This is partly one of the reasons Americans have such bad reputation around the world.
death to amerikaaaa!! *blows himself up*
You forgot to kapitalize Amerika.
* Capitalize
* America
Guys come on… it’s C’s… not K’s….
You fail >.> Giggidy was obviously mocking Akmed!
so, America hasn’t lent aid to disasters in othe parts of the world?
I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over all the battleships, planes, and helicopters heading to other parts of the world for tsunami/earthquake/genocide relief.
Shipoopi WIN!!!!
not so!
so stupid people don’t think it’s a win, that probably means it is
America may lend aid of course, like any country does, but then you get half of the US complaining about it.
As for the battleships and, look… you can start your own wars and feed on all the propaganda, but the rest of the world knows America plans its wars according to economical cycles and business.
i said nothing about wars, and are you suggesting *no one* in other parts of the world complains when their respective countries aid the us?
So STFU.
I love you for this.
Goddess, what is your basis for saying “we always complain about it”?
seriously? they gave millions? lets see how did china help US. Its not millions nor billion. last i heard it was trillion? let me draw the figure for you -> 1 000 000 000 000. thats alot of zeros!
So you stfu. thank you!
Yes, America gave aid to Japan to rebuild AFTER they threw a bomb at them.
I love America. I’m just saying.
Ahh you beat me to it. And unless your name is ironic “Not So Common Sence”, your name is spelled wrong.
Oh and I’m not just trying to nitpick you or anything, just trying to help out :3
“It’s obvious you have no idea what you are talking about and hate America because it’s the new cool thing to do”.
Actually, no. My hatred for America’s decisions started when I learnt about the Mexican-American war way back since 3rd grade.
Hmm, double standard much?
okay as much as you americans annoy the crap out of me you do have a point, however the global image that you have as an american is as an ignorant, gun totin, chew spittin, sister screwing inbred, and those steriotypes have to come from somewhere, i’m just saying
I resent that! The baby’s not mine!
oh yeah, like the british never inbred. are you forgetting what the royal families would do way back?
I think they come from old TV shows, comedians, the internet, and the heart of the gaw-gian wilderness.
maybe right america help a little however it’s not entirely true because if i’m not mistaken all those battleships goes to Iraq and Afghanistan.
planes and helicopters are from United Nations therefore it’s not only america and United Nations funds are from all the alliance between country.
Oh wells, you have a good intention in backing your country but get your facts right. I DIE!
alliance between *COUNTRIES.
nope, that’s not true, you should look up the facts
when i’m talking about aid from america, i’m talking about aid from america, not the un
do you really think *all* of america’s battleships are tied up in the middle east?
you should look up info on battleships aiding in the tsunamis
did you get what he meant? he said they might have help.. and why do they need battleships for tsunami’s aid? its not a freaking war? you might need to restate that SHIPOOPI i might suggest to you that it is call a Working Navy Ship. you really do a lot of internet googling.
however the american web security for the battleships aren’t that easy to be track on the web. Do you think it will be given that easy? once the taliban know where it is they will fly an unman vehicle to your battleships. think about the logic in it if you’re talking to a war tactician. never mind google they dont have every single answer for every single thing.
have a good day. I’d die with Stupid People.
dude, aircraft carriers are battle ships, and have massive capacity to aid
diaf
what the hell does that second paragraph mean?
also, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are coalition efforts
so why does America get sole credit for the wars, but not the aid?
Because they started them.
I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over all those planes dropping bombs on people. What did you say?
I said that we were aiding people. I said nothing about dropping bombs on people. I won’t contest that however.
Shhh, I can’t hear the millions of American soldiers who died for foreign causes.
Shhh, i can’t hear the billions of people those americans killed
I also must assume from your statement that you are Swiss.
No, Irish.
ah, so you just dislike it when the bombs come from planes and not cars
Also, what’s with the whole “cars” comment? Can’t take a joke, so you just cheap-shot people?
He did not say the USA does not help. He said Americans (i.e. citizens) complain (despite your government helping).
Illiteracy is another reason why Americans have such a bad reputation around the world.
actually he did not explicitly state that we help at all, he simply said we are helped and complain about the idea that we should care about others
inferring too much is another reason why Europeans have such a bad reputation around the world
europeans only have a bad reputation in america, which isn’t the whole world, in case you didn’t know
Private citizens also donate millions, and you can’t say this dumbass is the national representation of our country.
America-bashing is another reason why people like you have such a bad reputation around the internet.
bingo bango
Rodo, what the heck are you talking about?
How many other countries did you see come to help here after Katrina? How many other countries did you see come here to help after the flooding in the farmlands (ND I believe?)
Now when the tsunami hit, Americans were one of the first on hand to help. When the Russian Sub sunk, we were there to help, but Putin refused to let us help, so those poor men died. With Chile, NASA helped, as did a PA Mining company. When the earthquake hit Haiti, American soilders were some of the first there to help with the rescue.
Learn your facts before you start slamming the US of A!
Mexico had food trucks in New Orleans before our own government was able to help.
Actually, there was a fair amount of foreign aid after Katrina. Google it.
Take your own advice and learn your facts.
Lots of other words, yes, but not “inefficient”.
i second that sentiment! US is mostly media power that’s why they’re american.
So you’re saying after America giving millions to help other countries, it’s wrong to accept some help when our country faces a natural disaster?
Not trying to criticize here, just trying to see how you view this situation.
Nope, they never said so.
Well when you have only a small fraction of 300 million people in your country, it’s a lot easier to give more per capita.
Are you serious? Where do you get your news.
Fox?
Nah, Fox doesn’t put down America every chance it gets like certain other news stations.
…since when does the US have more disasters and problems than the rest of the world?
In favor of Chile, I want to put in a point here: it is most definitely NOT a third world nation.
*it’s
I am willing to believe this…
However, neither hollywood, nor the fast food industries that you spawned help your case.
i don’t know enough about chile to make an informed decision
I didn’t either, but all this celebration on TV of this man made miracle has been enlightening. To improve you need to kick some major corporate or political azz when these disasters happen – someone needs to take the blame and go down hard, and laws need to be passed. That should be the focus.
I mean seriously – people were waving the miners out of the way of the cameras the other day – “get out of the shot, we’ve got to show the tube apparatus!”
Right. They should have googled “Upper Big Branch Mine disaster” for a better idea of how it’s done.
Back to milking my cows bye.
Yes. Because there’s never been a mine accident in the United States.
Just go reread about the rescue, or spend some time at Gives me Hope (don’t read the comments there though)
Oh kids these days….
You got a point. And I’m counting the capitalization issue as probably laziness on her part, which doesn’t bother me nearly so much as all-out ignorance. I’m lazy myself with certain grammar rules, at least when it comes to conversational situations like facebook.
BAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA, the racist got owned by his girlfriend, precious!
Katrina. Why the should we care? Oh, wait. I know the answer to that one. Because decent people GIVE A DAMN ABOUT OTHERS.
Take note, George W!
Take note, Obama.
I hate it when people only care what is happening in America. I understand that America is a proud country but there are other place out there.
to be fair, it’s not something that is limited to one country
heck, it’s not even really necessarily extended beyond one’s own person
I’m in the UK. I’ve started reading Dutch newspapers to actually find out about foreign news. The UK newspapers here are becoming more and more like the US newspapers. Blind to the world (unless there’s a juicy “reality” story somewhere, like the one about the miners).
eh, i just go online for my news, or npr
if i want world news i won’t be finding it in any paper around here
Yep, so do i or i read TheDailyMash online, (it’s satirical and mightily close to the bone). Personally, I think that even the BBC is starting to go that way.
Have to say though, that those two twats, Dillion and Al, is the epitamy of all that’s wrong with not just the US but the rest of the world in general too.
Very good point.
Like who cares about the people in Chile? the word “People” says same species as they are, regardless of Nationality and Race, so they must give a to these people too, just even a little.
haha, yer englich is badd
So… why DO you read the websites like this then? It’s your choice.
Did I mention any desire for extermination??!
Come on, Japan China and Mexico are all more racist the USA. And the first two would certainly be attempting to conquer the world and exterminate other peoples if the US wasn’t in the way.
I smell Alabama.
I smell a ham sandwich.
I smell someone that wants Palin to be the president.
Their name starts with a ‘D’ and ends with a ‘illon’.
isn’t America a continent?
Nope. What you are referring to when you say “America” depends on context. However, in no context is America a continent.
What is it then? A shoe?
North America?
Yes, there is a continent named North America, and another named South America. Collectively, they are called the Americas (note plural). There is nothing on this earth named just “America”, but when the term is used by itself, it almost invariably means the USA.
Actually no.
That is only in English-speaking countries.
This matter sometimes does annoy me, as I bet 99% of Americans don’t know this, and just assume everyone says American.
see below. Some countries do teach it as one continent named America.
Partly wrong. Some countries teach one American continent, named America.
MOST of the world regards it as two continents, North and South America. But apparently Spain, Portugal, and some Latin American countries teach it as the continent of America (singular).
then they’re obviously wrong
Yeah, they talk like my 14 year old cousin does on the book. Definitely teenagers.
MMmmm.. this got a little off topic. The important thing here is that these three (Dillon, Al and Shelbylynne) are idiots. The thing about the Chilean miners is a very different topic.
found ‘er
Shel….. can’t be TOO smart if she agreed to be Dillon’s ‘lady’.
I feel… accepted.
It is sad and pathetic that American dollars went towards this rescue. Just another example of how Obama supports other nationalities more than Americans.
How dare those Americans help humans other than themselves! Selfish bastards.
I like you.
I THINK those bailouts were initiated by Bush. I know one of the bailouts was, and I think it was the auto manufacturers’ bailouts.
I know! What’s up with that GENEROUS guy? Jeeeeeez.
Al is quite the wing man there!
he’s probably seen top gun
That’s why the whole world hates America.
The whole world doesn’t hate America, the whole world hates the U.S. of A., there’s a difference (to the rest of the world, anyways).
Uneducated
Stupid
Americans
Why don’t you show your ignorance by generalizing a bit more. Anyways, didn’t you just point out that America is an amalgamation of different countries rather then just the U.S.? And then you called everyone in the Americas stupid and uneducated. My country infuriates me probably more than it ever will infuriate you, but I’m not a complete d****e, most of the time, like you.
“America”, not “Americas”
I believe Uro meant the world hates the Americans that are Uneducated and Stupid, not all Americans… Otherwise his post wouldn’t make much sense.
Welcome to Alabama.
goooooooooooooooooood….. aren’t these fails supposed to be funny? I’m astonished by the fact that no one else has pointed out the fact that this post is absolutely boring and useless. This is seriously the worst, most boring facebook fail that I’ve ever seen and that’s saying A LOT!
No. the fails can be funny, OR they can simply be full of fail.
Al and Dillon actually type like they have some semblance of a brain compared to most rednecks who have found their way to Facebook. All of my BF’s friends’ posts look like a monkey jumped on the keyboard compared to these.
Or, say, he’s slapping his d*ck on the keyboard then hitting comment?
bgt5cde3mjuu67bgt432
internetz if you get the reference.
What? Obviously the chic wasn’t being racist. Don’t be a bigot. Actually…..please continue being a troll….it amuses this southern girl…
*Void’s 1-3, Oh really’s 4*
That.
And yes, the people here DO need to chill out.
Loved it.
Ignorance.
Loved it even better!!
But let me tell you… America has THREE separate regions. not continents, America it’s ONE continent.
South America and North America are both continents.
no no, they’re Sub Continents, plz google.
Matter of opinion.
Eurasia is 2 continents, or 1 continent.
Also preference.
THIS.
…i think its more like Ex-girlfriend now. so.. ahaha… but yes indeed verry much off topic hooray to you for brining it up.((im being serious))^^
Failbook has become SRS BZNZ, please report to the docking stations for your hard hats.
this is absolutely ridiculous. honestly. people would still care all around the world. the whole world was watching in tears except the U.S.
Excuse you? People in the US were watching in tears too. Stop generalising all of us, thanks.
Wait, you’re leaving? Bye, then!
he does deserve worse, most certainly.
WorldwouldbebetterwithoutUSA = is such trash he/she believes hating other countries is having pride in his/her own. But really, you’re just giving justification to what the rest of us already thinks about you: Ignorant.
well he deserved it, its stuff like this that makes me believe in karma
/thread
haha loved it… and you know what Americans? the whole rest of the globe care much less than you think about those people who died in 9/11.
I am not infallible the first line should read, “the majority of citizens of the United States believe” see Americans can even admit to making mistakes.
shut it. Please. You are on the same level of stupidity!
You are trash. Please promptly put foot through monitor, so we shall no longer hear your garbage. Thank you.
I don’t even feel like arguing with this, it’s either obvious trolling or obvious extreme nationalism and closed-mindedness.
Gotta love that irony.
I say, Shelbylynne FTW!!
for everyone who says don’t generalize americans. it’s true. i do apologize for that i am sure americans watched this as well. and yes i took this this the wrong way. i apologize it just amazes me how some people can be so racist. i’m not racist i love the united states as much as anyone else. i’ve lived here all my life. and around the world 9/11 actually WAS being watched in tears
Ironically, I highly doubt you are the Ugly American I was referring to in my post.
wow. i hate stupid people.
is it just me or did i kill those two on dead rising 2? (if you don’t know what i’m talking about go to youtube then type in “dead rising 2 boss red necks”)
I found it telling that one of the Chilean miners, when interviewed, said that he was “looking forward to spending time with my son, wife, and daughter”.
Wow, this actually pisses me off XDDDD He deserved worse, really! He said “who cares” but miners are really important in Chile, brainless american >:I
I agree with brainless, but did you really have to stick “american” in there? It just fuels the hate.
Actually, North America and South America are TWO continents. and furthermore are separated by the Panama Canal. Just sayin. Smart guy.
Trolling your girlfriend: never a good idea.
Gotta love how Al’s that “I AGREE!!” guy who just hangs onto every word his buddy says.
Al did actually say some stuff of his own. He said that if it were in the US there should be “a little fuss” because they “needed them to work”… I mean, really? What a dumbass
enough ladies and gentleman,
Where ever you’re from, it’s your country, no need to fight over anything we don’t want another war do we?

What every single one of you should do is, just carry on with life and take what ever you can take from which ever countries you think fit.
Be happy with what you have, don’t complain, there are more people which has NO internet access. So if you’re into doing charity Drop by on some charity websites and do your part. TQ!
The most retarded thing about this is that Chile is in America.
The most retarded thing is not being able to locate Chile on a map. South America is where it resides not in the country of America. We were of course happy to design and build the machinery that brought the miners to safty. Glad that they all made it out safely!
it’s probably a good thing it didn’t happen in america.
we’ve all seen what happens when they try to ‘rescue’ people.
I believe the “she” was a typo, as you can notice he says “his” country before.
Thank god people noticed that Chile is actually in America….
I was starting to get scared.
Chile is in America?
The ignorance of average (North-) Americans never stops amazing me. It makes me sad to realize these rednecks are serious, not just kidding.
inb4 america flame war
Stupid ignorants: America is a continent; SO Chile is in America just as The US is in America.
Chile is in SOUTH america. Canada is in NORTH america.
United States of AMERICA has the damn word in its name. and there is only one way to describe the people AMERICANS.
stop generalizing americans as being ignorant. stereotyping a people as ignorant is blatant ignorance and hypocrisy.
Stop with the semantics.
exactly!
While I agree with nearly everything you just said, ‘ustadounidense’ does basically translate to ‘United Statesian’
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/estadounidense
But yea, while a lot of people consider America to refer to one continent (Latin Americans especially), most English speaking countries consider it to refer to the US.
Really it’s like the football debate. Just as pointless and just as amusing to see how many people are so sure they’re right they don’t bother questioning what they know.
As a Chilean man all I can say THIS WAS FREAKING HILARIOUS! We laugh histerically at red-necks’ epic ignorance…
I was hoping someone would tell that al guy that blood is blue until it comes into contact with oxygen…
geez…this country has a very bad reputation in all around the world, in case you did not know. And mind you people do not want America acting as the police force of the world, whatever is happening in the world is because of America anyway….
Tony Montana has a reputation, for more cowbell.
