Yeah, I agree, that’s not a win. As someone who both survived a mother who wanted her aborted and had two pregnancies “fail” this is not appropriate humor. Her son clearly agrees.
Ditto. It’s a pretty awful thing to say, even if it is a joke.
At the very least it should be in person when you can hear tone of voice and not in text where it’s harder to tell that someone is joking. But I would NEVER say that, not even as a joke. It’s just awful.
Meh, come on caretrolls, parents are allowed to make jokes like that to their kids if they want to. Why brothers and sisters do it all the time as well, particularly in big families like my own where limitied resources and attention from our folks mean near constant fighting.
For example, recently I was arguing with 3 of my little sisters about who was an accident and who wasn’t, Mum just overheard us and said “you were all accidents, I wanted puppies instead but all I got was you lousy kids, now shut the f**k up, dinner’s ready”
It was meant in good humour and none of us were scarred by it though we do enjoy making “My mum’s so fat” jokes these as retaliation (she really is enormous)
Well, that’s why I’m of the opinion that facebook isn’t really the greatest place for such a joke. With text, tone of voice is completely lost and something meant as a lighthearted joke can easily be taken more seriously.
You have no idea who I am, but believe me, I am genuinely sorry that you had to hear that. It’s got MY mother’s “if I knew you were going to be physically disabled in time, I’d have had an abortion comment” beat down into the ground.
Actually two people did like it, including the person who made the screencap. Since they already liked it, the only option is for them to unlike it. That shows I spend way too much time on facebook
No, the fact that it shows an “unlike” button, means that the person who captured this, had already clicked “Like”. It gives you the option to Unlike anything you Liked. No dislike button yet
No, one of the two people who ‘liked’ it was the one who posted it. There is no unlike, unless you’ve already liked something. Then, you’re given the option to undo (unlike) your previous decision. You can see the thumbs up symbol, which means they liked it.
Actually, this was apparently submitted by Melinda.
So, seeing as we already know that the person who submitted must also have liked the Mum comment, the evidence suggests that Melinda, in fact, liked it??
Now that just doesn’t make any sense to me??
UNLESS the Mum comment was actually directed at Ben? (i.e. Ben and Mike are brothers, and Mum really likes football, so doesn’t like the fact that Ben doesn’t like football). However, looking at the length of the blacked out section, I’d say Ben and Mike do not have the same last name, which means they are less likely (although it’s not impossible) for them to have the same mother.
Uhmmm I believe it says ‘unlike’ because the person that posted it is one of the ‘Like’s and it gives u the option to undo that choice.. 2 people DID like the comment and one was the person that took the screenshot..
This is completely unrelated… but apparently you have an almost husband on here . He’s just up that way ^ lol. Giggidy, I would like you to meet Mr Giggity. Do the two of you together make giggidy giggity?
Lighten up, guys. If Melinda is the daughter and she sent it in, it appears that she wasn’t too offended by it. Maybe this mother and her children have that kind of relationship where they make innapropriate jokes like that…my mom and I do. Just a thought.
Wow people, get a grip. I can’t picture my Mom saying this to me, but I wouldn’t be insulted if she did. You don’t know their relationship, if this is the Mothers sense of humor, I’m going to take a wild guess that the kid already knows her Mom was joking. I’m sure there is a strong sense of love there for a Mom to be secure enough to say something like this over her offsprings facebook page.
Mike seemed genuinely shocked. If he is also Susan’s child, I guess that tells us a little bit about what HE thinks is/isn’t appropriate. Anyone could have sent that in, not necessarily Melinda.
We know that it cannot be ben, susan, Mike, or Melinda because there is no option to remove a comment. But we DO know that the submitter had to have been a person who “liked” that 1 comment because there’s an option to unlike.
Because if it was Melinda, she could have removed any of those comments, and if it was one of the commenters, they could have removed their OWN comments.
My vote is Melinda submitted it, because of the lock icon showing under her status. There is also the unlike option, and it’s liked by 2 people. Based on the lock and the unlike showing up, Melinda liked the comment and submitted it.
Come on! You can’t get sensitive over this. Chances are they are a family with a healthy, if somewhat offbeat, sense of humor. If you’re a member of a family like that, you know when someone is joking. The response, to me at least, suggests not a reaction to what was said, but where it was said. They seem to get it. Stop worrying so much.
wow…super funny!! people please we dont want to hear you complaining about all your hang-ups…really dont care so please shut up and if you dont like it get out of here your ruining my chuckle!!
HA!
Melinda!! why did you upload this ???!!!
Wow…
WOW mum WOW!!!!
That’s a win?

*limited* not “limitied” (in before the annoying spelling nazis leap down my throat)
Well, that’s why I’m of the opinion that facebook isn’t really the greatest place for such a joke. With text, tone of voice is completely lost and something meant as a lighthearted joke can easily be taken more seriously.
i don’t think that the venue matters, after all she IS their mom and being family they’d know that they were joking.
Wow. I’m really grateful you, your mom and Susan are not my parents!
i find ur life ironic
Wow a new one!
**Speechless**
ditto
That’s like, the ultimate mom insult/burn. If anybody can possibly conceive a better one let me know.
good choice of words ^
i see what you did there
Well we tried conceiving more mom-burn jokes but those jokes got aborted…
I’d make another joke like this but that’d be kind of “OBSCURE” (Points if you get the reference)
YAY “POINTS”
Dir en Grey’s “Obscure” ?
Yep, You got it
NAH THERE WAS A “FAIL” EARLIER THAT USED “QUOTATION” MARKS FOR “EMPHASIS”
hhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggggg
That totally beats my dad’s “I should’ve wiped you on the sheet instead of getting your mom pregnant”.
You have no idea who I am, but believe me, I am genuinely sorry that you had to hear that. It’s got MY mother’s “if I knew you were going to be physically disabled in time, I’d have had an abortion comment” beat down into the ground.
Yeah, speech tags end BEFORE the word “comment.” Meh. You knew what I meant
I’ve had “If I knew you were going to be autistic, I would have had you aborted”. My parents are pro-life. Strangely, I find this funny.
Is that like your mom saying “I should have swallowed you”
so Susan is suggesting that melinda is her daughter and Mike then is the son and Ben … well Ben just is Ben.
….and 2 people “like” her momfail comment.
No, they don’t like it — there’s a distinct “unlike” button there.
ouch, never mind. FAIL on my part, I just realized what that was. Shows how much time I spend using FB. *sigh*
Actually two people did like it, including the person who made the screencap. Since they already liked it, the only option is for them to unlike it. That shows I spend way too much time on facebook
Yeah, Zoey, that’s what I mean by my FAIL. I realized what the UNLIKE thing was for about a second after a I posted.
No, the fact that it shows an “unlike” button, means that the person who captured this, had already clicked “Like”. It gives you the option to Unlike anything you Liked. No dislike button yet
That’s because Ben took the snapshot, and liked the post.
No, one of the two people who ‘liked’ it was the one who posted it. There is no unlike, unless you’ve already liked something. Then, you’re given the option to undo (unlike) your previous decision. You can see the thumbs up symbol, which means they liked it.

All in all – I’m confused.
I-D-A-H-O! IDAHO, IDAHO, GO, GO, GO!
Go Vandals.
Go ahead and troll me.
Haha we beat you guys on Saturday! HAHAHAHAHA GBR!
wow, for gosh sake, that was tooooo honest! XD
Oh wow. Burn. She’ll enjoy recounting this in therapy when she’s older no doubt.
That’s just sad!
The mother of all burns, wow.
I see what you did there.
Wow, that was mean
Uhmmm I believe it says ‘unlike’ because the person that posted it is one of the ‘Like’s and it gives u the option to undo that choice.. 2 people DID like the comment and one was the person that took the screenshot..
Ha ha ha, that would be funny but a failed pregnancy is a miscarriage. Ah… it’s a bit sad now…
Lol, failed abortion.
!!!!!
WHOA. I seriously wouldn’t speak to my mother ever AGAIN if she said this, especially in public. WTF. Even as a joke it’s in incredibly poor taste.
Facebook isn’t technically in public, but close enough.
This is completely unrelated… but apparently you have an almost husband on here
. He’s just up that way ^ lol. Giggidy, I would like you to meet Mr Giggity. Do the two of you together make giggidy giggity?
No gosh we make babies =P
But I’m a (straight) dude so no XD also I’ve been here longer so I’m the OG. Original Giggidy
Hmmm, I wonder how that’s working for ya
I’m not sure if that’s possible…
Of course you’re the OG
, in fact I think that’s what I’ll call you from now on, haha. And as long as you’re sure
Lighten up, guys. If Melinda is the daughter and she sent it in, it appears that she wasn’t too offended by it. Maybe this mother and her children have that kind of relationship where they make innapropriate jokes like that…my mom and I do. Just a thought.

So the fact that Melinda submitted it means anyone could have submitted it?
Well, anyone called Melinda.
The name “Melinda” in the submission thing doesn’t mean squat.
The Melinda in the status was the one who took the screen shot: i shows the little lock icon which you only see on your own status.
Em
We know that it cannot be ben, susan, Mike, or Melinda because there is no option to remove a comment. But we DO know that the submitter had to have been a person who “liked” that 1 comment because there’s an option to unlike.
Because if it was Melinda, she could have removed any of those comments, and if it was one of the commenters, they could have removed their OWN comments.
There’s also an outside possibility that Ben is Susan’s son and the target of her remark, not Melinda, who may not be a relation at all.
It seems VT fans can’t take a hit. But then again, they were the only team in the top 25 to take a loss.
Sad.
My vote is Melinda submitted it, because of the lock icon showing under her status. There is also the unlike option, and it’s liked by 2 people. Based on the lock and the unlike showing up, Melinda liked the comment and submitted it.

Go Broncos?
Typical Broncos family.
It’s obvious that ben uploaded it
Is this Broncos as in Brisbane Broncos? Not that it actually really matters…
I’d doubt it, based on the “Mom” (US/Canada) not “Mum” (Aus/UK/NZ/lots of other places) spelling.
I’d go either the Denver Broncos (who lost the first game of the season just a couple of days ago), or some college football team I’ve never heard of.
I believe that it’s the Boise State Broncos.
Almost certainly fake.
Haaaa! funniest thing I’ve read all day! gald to see some humor in the world still.
BLUHBLUH’s got the dynamics figured out.
I think Mike was genuinely surprised and by his mother’s comment and disappointed in her having made it, regardless of whom she was addressing.
Personally, no matter what kind of humor the family enjoys, I find the comment tasteless, crude, & cruel.
Poor editing on my part, sorry. Omit the first “and” = …surprised by his mother’s…
Does it not specifically say, “Submitted by Melinda”??? Why the guessing over that?!
Clearly none of you have ever been to Singapore.
I honestly laughed till my throat hurt. That is one funny mother.
wow…super funny!! people please we dont want to hear you complaining about all your hang-ups…really dont care so please shut up and if you dont like it get out of here your ruining my chuckle!!
what the f**k singapore? oh geeze get real this is a joke site a place for people to zone out for a bit and laugh at some silly stuff get a grip!!!
