I do that too!
LOL. That is actually very funny. The guy seems like your regular joker-type-fun-guy.
I like this post.
Nah
I stand by my comment. A person who goes through the effort of putting an umlaut on a u is worthy of getting the benefit of the doubt. This guy is OK.
agreed, a definite german win right here
oh shut up
Anyone who says uber deserves to be taken advantage of.
…he even got the sideways colon over it. Do you have any idea how difficult that is on the internet? Irksomely so. You have to find a decent ASCII code table, then find the code for it, and then you have to have the number pad that most laptops DON’T have.
That’s putting effort into your creeping.
On a Mac, it’s nöt äs dïffïcült äs ït sëëms.
You use the alt/option key: alt-u, type whatever letter you want to put it over.
Yés, thåt gôës fõr òthêr symbóls äs wêll.
I remember going that on my Apple IIE back in the 80s.
In Winblows you have to us the Character Map, but it has just about everything you could want. And if you know the Alt code (not all of them are alt codes, though) you can use it without resorting to opening the Character Map and copy/pasting it. ;Þ
Actualy, it is called an umlaut.

And it isn’t that hard to do
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080607111134AAa7Bkz
(open Word or similar program, type, press Ctrl + Shift + ; then u)
or you could just Google it and cut and paste it like I do
What the hell? The guy says “I can’t stop coming to your profile and I’m looking at your sexy hair and thinking of running my fingers through it”, the girl says, “that’s weird”, and you automatically blame the girl? Bitter much?
Easy — spot the loser, and then spot the girl telling him off for attempting an uber lame sexual advance.
hahaha, this generally made me laugh, i love people i that :L
Your grammer fails are impressive… So impressive in fact that I can’t tell what the hell you were even trying to say.
“grammer”
*chokes and dies*
what does ‘über’ mean ?
“Über” is the German word for “about” and also for “over” (as in “above”). This definition comes from my German to English dictionary, btw, not GoogleTranslate.
I bugs me so much whenever someone uses it when speaking English to exaggerate something. *bangs head on computer desk repeatedly* A[MOWIEMIVAWE-
German is my mother tongue, and I can assure you that “über” can be used to exaggerate something. It’s very rare though and has to be used properly, like in “überteuert” (overpriced) or “übergroß” (oversized). You can’t just take any adjective and throw “über” in front of it, so something like “übersexy” doesn’t exist – in German! In English it seems to be fine though, it’s become common slang on the internet, so don’t be so über picky ;p
Wirklich? Sie benutzen “über” auch im Englischen? Wie hat sich das denn eingeschlichen?
“Super”
And she won’t apologize for the restraining order.
Didn’t you know? It’s against your restraining order to add someone on facebook. Go look it up.
Lol.
That.
Was a bit.
Wierd.
As is your spelling of “weird”.
not really a fail. People say it often. ‘i like your hair, i want to touch it’
its not an uncommon thing. it just shows that this guy probably thinks hes ‘So cool and random!21321!’
what does ‘über’ mean ?
“super” well, kinda
NO. “Über” is the German word for “about” and for “over” (as in “above”). It does NOT mean “super” and shouldn’t be used for exaggerating in the English language.
Sorry, but every time someone uses “über” to exaggerate something, I get a bit OCD about it.
(I got that definition of “über” from my German to English dictionary, btw. Not from GoogleTranslate or anywhere else on the Internet.)
Yeah…… it means “super”, buddy.
Nope, you wouldn’t use it in German in a sentence like the one in the pic.
“über” can mean “about”, “across”, “above” and “more than”, but is NOT used in conjunction with something like “sexy”.
But it’s used as “super” in this context (“super” means “over” btw).
And when a large amount of people use a word in a slightly different way, that new meaning might become the right meaning. That’s how languages evolve.
And “über” is used in several languages as “super”…uhm, which is cool I guess.
ps: German is one of our national languages, so that doesn’t count for a thing ’cause I don’t speak it!
Actually it is used in german for the same reason, like exaggerations. It’s kinda slangy, but accepted.
Yeah…… it means “over/about,” buddy.
I didn’t even know people still said “uber.”
they don’t they say über
Deutchland uber alles!
Nein! Bitte, übernehme nicht!
. . . My German isn’t very good, I’m not sure if there’s supposed to be an “e” there. “Übernehm”? . . .
Aber, übernehm nicht die Welt! (?)
“übernimm” would be correct in this case
Makes you wonder if he’s used the wrong preposition in that first sentence. Maybe ‘on’ is what he meant…
“Play with”? Man up and pull it.
How old are you, five?
Everybody, meet my friend, Courage Wolf. Courage Wolf, everybody.
I have had much stranger comments made toward me! I don’t know why the person was made so uncomfortable. LOL
Über can actually used as “super”.
…God these people are on my friends list.
I’ve seen this comment.
I’m so mocking that dude more for this.
