Yeah, this is all just conjecture, and we’re now just investigating it far too deeply. Particularly coming up with overly elaborate reasons why they couldn’t have taken what is, to most people on this site, the path of least resistance.
(prtscr > winkey > r > mspaint > enter > ctrl-v > position paste position to crop top left corner > move crop handle to reasonable lower right position > blank out names > ctrl-s > type name > choose .JPG or .PNG > enter … all that needing about 30 seconds as most of the steps happen in quick succession, those required for getting it off a phone and editing at least as long winded if not far more so)

Besides, if you’d just gone and found that awful quality snap on your phone and you still thought it OMG SO HILARIOUS that it was worth putting on here – why not take a quick dig in your FB archive (they never get rid of ANYTHING. Trust me. I’ve had extremely bored people get down to a picture post on a board about 3 years ago that I also commented on, drop their own tuppence on it, and I’ve got a notification that’s returned me to that ancient thread) and get the original.

Or hell, screencap a similar looking one and spend three minutes in Paint faking it. It’s a standard font and size, so long as you’re not completely ham-handed it’ll look ok.

Now this would actually make sense. If I wanted to keep this for myself I would take a screenshot, BUT I figure I’ll have more chance of stumbling upon it on my phone. Maybe his reflex for personal use is snapping a picture with his phone .However if it’s a digital camera it’s a whole other story, unless he always carries it in his pocket..
Anyway I should stop thinking about that.

The end result is the same either way. You take five seconds to google “Mac OSX Screenshot”, I take five seconds to click the camera button on my phone. Either way, you end up with a file ready for cropping.

And who says they even took the picture for submission to this site? Maybe he took the picture in order to share it with some friends, and sending a picture message was easier than texting directions on how to find it? Maybe two months later, he then stumbled upon it again on his phone, and thought, hey, this was funny, I’ll bet it’ll get a laugh on Failbooking.com.
