Mono isn’t a sexually transmittal disease or anything – the virus lives in the saliva and mucus of those infected, so you can catch it in several ways, most of of which aren’t sexual or requires you to be particularly close to anyone who has it…
(Though it earned the nickname “kissing-disease” here in Denmark, as it can be caught from kissing someone – saliiiivaaaa, yum!
But like the flu, the virus can also be caught by touching rails, door-knobs and such with the virus on there.
Then again… just about any amount of rational analyzing makes just about ANY joke unfunny… I apologize.

mono is an acute disease characterized by fever and swollen lymph nodes and an abnormal increase of mononuclear leucocytes or monocytes in the bloodstream; not highly contagious; some believe it can be transmitted by kissing
Mono can also be transmitted from touching a doorknob that a mono-infected person has touched with their body fluids on their hands, then touching any mucus membrane on your body. While hellish to go through (three weeks of being basically bed-ridden for me; ymmv), it’s not exactly an STD or a reason to break with someone over.
Stupid girl is stupid if that’s what she did.
That would almost be funny if kissing was the only way to get mono.
