My laptop has had two viruses since I got it a year and a half ago, and that’s with downloading 50 million things, surfing 50 million sites, and generally having a good, worry-free time.
Last time i checked Apple were the ones who are trying to appeal to 12 year old girls with their shiny slimline notebooks… Windows has always been about performance over interface, i dont know who you have been talking to…

I was using Word, Excel and Powerpoint 1.0 on a Mac, years before Windows 1.0 was released. Microsoft was selling Macintosh applications back when PC users called the Mac a toy, mocking mouse and graphical user interface.
You forgot, Macs are over $2,000. Systems with windows included cost maybe $500 unless you want a really powerful system (but you can get pretty good ones for $500)

Are you talking about Mac as software or hardware? if hardware, you can’t compare it to a “Windows computer”, because Microsoft doesn’t decide what the computers they license their OS to runs on. As for software, there is no difference, you can get the same software (or equivalent) for both windows and mac.

Actually, Macs have better built in specs than any PC. You go on any site and mod out a PC until its specs match a Mac’s, you end up paying more. I was using an HP before, but it crashed and I ended up getting a Mac, and now there is not a hope in hell that I would go back. And yes, they never get viruses. Oh, wait, sorry, they do get viruses through macros that were designed for Windows. So as long as you stick with Mac all the way, you’ll be good. Plus, I’ve never had my Mac crash. I can’t say that for my old PC. That’s not saying it never happens. That’s just saying it doesn’t happen often.
You obviously haven’t used one then. I have an imac. One of the last-gen 3.06 c2ds. It crashes periodically when doing anything remotely processing-intensive and so much of what actually goes on in the OS is hidden that it’s just a pain to use. Full of fail really. I’ve grown to hate that stupid scrolling wheel that I want to punch a hole in my mac every time it comes up.

1) Learn to spell or at least use spell checker.
2) Firewalls don’t prevent infections anti-viruses do. Firewalls prevent connections to the network (Internet/Local Network)
3) It doesn’t matter what the operating system is if you don’t practice common sense and start doing things you shouldn’t you will fuck up your computer be it Windows, Mac, or Linux.

I am from sweden, and i bought my first macbook 2,5 years ago. This is the best thing I have ever owned! I love it! The design is just amazing, and it is VERY fast! Before my macbook, I have been an owner of 3 different Windows PCs. Now I use these three PCs as bread board. If I try to start them up, I have to start them in the morning, and when I come home from work, they are finally ready to do a move. If you want to use a windows, you also have to take virus scanning every week. And you have to pay for it.
So actually, if you will have a windows more than two years, the cost you pay to protect your computer against virus plus the prize if the computer will be the same as a Mac. SO, why dont just buy a mac?
And you look MUCH cooler with a mac! And also get an iPhone! A mac and an iPhone works SO GOOD together. They synchronize in a way that makes your daily life much more easier.
If ypu go mac, you never go back. I dont think it exist a human that went from windows to mac. hehe.

I consder myself to be an experienced user of both Windows/Microsoft and Mac, and I find it this way:
* People who say Windows/Microsoft are better, have never really tried a Mac (by tried, I mean more than 24 hrs.)
* People who say Mac are better have had a Microsoft/Windows computer before, but are often ignorant about the upsides with Microsoft/Windows.
They both have their upsides and downsides, personally I prefer Mac. Except for gaming where I use Windows/Microsoft.
I’ve spent hours upon hours on my mom’s Mac. Can’t make myself like it. I’ve tried. Hell, I’m the one who recommended it to her! Though I only did it because I knew she’d be a virus magnet. Windows is for me. On the other hand, I freakin love my iPod Touch, and have no desire for a Zune. So, I’m no fangirl either way. I look for what’s best for ME.

I, personally, own a Windows laptop while my mom used a Mac, and from time to time I use hers to enjoy it’s benefits that Windows does not have, though when it comes to Gaming, even if I DID own a Mac, Windows would be my first choice. Windows hasn’t been a dos gui since win 3. It’s been it’s own OS since 95.

I also feel compelled to mock your usage of the word ‘literally’ while comparing a firewall.
Let me break this down for you Andrew.
1) Learn to spell or at least use spell checker.
2) Firewalls don’t prevent infections anti-viruses do. Firewalls prevent connections to the network (Internet/Local Network)
3) It doesn’t matter what the operating system is if you don’t practice common sense and start doing things you shouldn’t you will fuck up your computer be it Windows, Mac, or Linux.
If you wish to dispute my comments know that I used to fix computers for a living and I still fix the computers of friends and family.

I am from sweden, and i bought my first macbook 2,5 years ago. This is the best thing I have ever owned! I love it! The design is just amazing, and it is VERY fast! Before my macbook, I have been an owner of 3 different Windows PCs. Now I use these three PCs as bread board. If I try to start them up, I have to start them in the morning, and when I come home from work, they are finally ready to do a move. If you want to use a windows, you also have to take virus scanning every week. And you have to pay for it.
So actually, if you will have a windows more than two years, the cost you pay to protect your computer against virus plus the prize if the computer will be the same as a Mac. SO, why dont just buy a mac?
And you look MUCH cooler with a mac! And also get an iPhone! A mac and an iPhone works SO GOOD together. They synchronize in a way that makes your daily life much more easier.
If ypu go mac, you never go back. I dont think it exist a human that went from windows to mac. hehe.

I consder myself to be an experienced user of both Windows/Microsoft and Mac, and I find it this way:
* People who say Windows/Microsoft are better, have never really tried a Mac (by tried, I mean more than 24 hrs.)
* People who say Mac are better have had a Microsoft/Windows computer before, but are often ignorant about the upsides with Microsoft/Windows.
They both have their upsides and downsides, personally I prefer Mac. Except for gaming where I use Windows/Microsoft.
I’ve spent hours upon hours on my mom’s Mac. Can’t make myself like it. I’ve tried. Hell, I’m the one who recommended it to her! Though I only did it because I knew she’d be a virus magnet. Windows is for me. On the other hand, I freakin love my iPod Touch, and have no desire for a Zune. So, I’m no fangirl either way. I look for what’s best for ME.
Yes, Liberal’s comment, in my opinion, is probably the best among all these others who argue that Windows or Mac is better.
I, personally, own a Windows laptop while my mom used a Mac, and from time to time I use hers to enjoy it’s benefits that Windows does not have, though when it comes to Gaming, even if I DID own a Mac, Windows would be my first choice. Both have their ups and downs, I prefer to make the most out of them.

In japan only 3% of people who own computers use mac the other 97% of people use windows or linux.. i have an ipod but i use windows..windows gets more viruses but the interface is simpler and it gets the job done…and mac coming out with things like the ipad (big flipping ipods btw) is for more of people who like to have pointless apps i mean who the hell wants to pay for an app that plays a dog whistle when you could just go on the internet and get it for free.. people who buy mac don’t know how to spend money they just like it because it has more things than windows but 99% of them are useless

I don’t know much about computers, but I’ve had a computer with Windows and a Macbook, and the one I understand easily is the Mac one. Plus the Windows would get jammed maybe once day, a thing that happened with my mac a few times in the 4 years I’ve had it. That said, it IS friggin’ expensive. I don’t even want to think of how much a new charging cable cost…
